These batteries are simply Awesome, I used to have to carry my Battery's through my Motorhome, worrying about acid spills. But not a problem with these batteries, they cost more but they last much longer, they are well worth the extra cost.

Good choice for battery-backed sump-pump
I chose this D31T "threaded stud" battery to power my battery-backed sump-pump. Amazon's website suggests a "Shoreline Marine Battery Marine Terminal Kit" to adapt its "battery posts" to threaded studs. That is WRONG. This battery's "posts" ARE threaded studs. I chose stainless steel 3/8"-NC nylon lock-nuts, which very neatly hold the charger and sump-pump lugs onto the battery studs. After a brief charge, a battery test showed over 1500 CCA (label says 900). I am very pleased. I will amend this review if anything changes my mind.

Longest Lasting RV Battery
This is the second Optima Yellow Top Dual purpose battery that I have purchased and I am very please with it's performance. The Optima yellow top I had before this one lasted 6 years with much use during camping. Six years is a very long time of discharging and recharges, for any RV battery. My other batteries were the typical deep cycle acid batteries which only lasted about a year and a half. This battery holds a charge very well. I can camp for 4 to 5 days without recharging. I highly recommend this battery because you get more for your money.

read for correct description of battery 5 star battery 3 star descripion
optima makes great batteries. however the description here is incorrect as is the primary picture. description says dual posts SAE and steel Posts not the case. this model is only a stud no sae post at all. i purchased 3 i got two different batteries. i got the 8051-160 and 2 of the 8050-160. the 8051 has sae posts only and the 8050 has studs only. i needed both studs and sae as the description says. had to return. the batteries i was replacing was from heavy marine use and were from 2008. one of them went bad so i was going to replace the whole bank of 3. never mix old optima batteries with new one's. hope this helps anyone looking to purchase these batteries. optima batteries last as you can see from the time i got out of them. the battery charger is very important when dealing with optima batteries. as long as it is a high end charger they will last. for those of you saying the batteries made in mexico do not last i got just over 8 years hard marine use and all were made in mexico

Yellow Top Optima Batteries - Definitely not worth it and they don't stand behind their battery
Buyer beware...Optima does not stand behind their batteries and their warranty is miss leading. I had 3 of the yellowtop batteries and they did not last 20 months. They will send you an email giving you instructions on how to revive the battery using a 12volt battery. We did this and the batteries still indicated 'bad' with our smart charge in addition to a volt meter that our neighbor was kind enough to come over and test with. When we notified Optima of the results, they then said we needed to take it to a approved battery company to have them charge and run some diagnostic testing. We took all 3 batteries to Advanced Auto and they kept them overnight and much of the rest of that day charging them on a slow trickle. When we arrived the following night, the servicemen ran the test and provided us with a printout indicating the batteries were bad. I then notified Optima of this. Now weeks later after going back and forth on this, they now tell me because for we had used the batteries in a daisy chain application they are only warranted for one year! This company does not stand behind their product and I personally would rate their deep cell batteries poor! These batteries are over $350 and didn't even last 2 years. I do not recommend their batteries and this company does not even stand behind a battery that should have a 5-6 a life-cycle of 5-6 years. Buyer Beware!!!

Great battery.
I bought this to add to my camper van project as an auxiliary battery. It is an expensive battery, but you get what you pay for!

Man they are GOOD! Junk your old lead acid!
I was hesitant to spend the extra money in hopes the cost would ofset the fact that I was burning through 4 batteries in my Semi every year and Optima claims 3 years life. Well, its been 4 years and I like them so much I bought a second batttery box and have 6 total batteries now with this current purchace of 3. I regularly drain them down to 11.1 volts before starting the truck again. During my 10 hour break I use my Vue Cube Direct TV sattelite system, TV, Webasto bunk heater, webasto Engine block heater, refrigerator/freezer, interior lights, charge my phone and bluetooth headset, sometimes also using my Laptop and printer too. With all six at the end of a 10 hour break and full use of my gadgets the battery guage reads 11.9.........Not bad! No longer interested in Lithium-Ion and its inherent risks.
