I own an original Super Famicom system and an N64 NTSC J model that are both modified. My HD Tv supports scart for composite signals but wanted a better picture quality for N64. Composite signals on HD tvs lead to pixel separation which make games with 3d graphics look untidy, shooters and racing games are a bit unbearable because it's hard to see long distance. The cheap HDMI adapters loose brightness and contrast, which makes Doom 64 unplayable but decent enough for SNES. I could still use the composite lead for that but wanted to see if I could get a better experience with N64 hardware. Doom 64 looked great even though I had to adjust the brightness and contrast on my TV and in dark areas I could find switches even though it's a bit darker than composite, the crosshair on Goldeneye was more solid making it easier to aim. Mario kart 64 looked amazing. This adapter doesn't upscale, but it does clean the picture quality up more than analogue signal and SNES games looked twice as better. Sometimes the audio is absent when turning on but moving the aspect ratio switch back and forth fixes it. I did some further testing, this adapter is not compatible with PAL region. Works with NTSC only.

Works 100% for N64. Very easy to set up. Some tips: 1. Set brightness and contrast to about 50% 2. Set colour to warm and about 35% - turn off all ‘processing effects’ like cinema mode, game mode etc. for N64 you want standard picture mode with no processing features switched on MAKE SURE YOU RUN TV AND DEVICE AT 4:3 picture aspect because this is same as original N64 and old TVs. Picture will not be perfect but it is decent!

Vast improvement on standard hdmi adaptor

Initially, the cable did not work. The warranty card supplied with the cable mentions this as a possible problem. I contacted the company directly via email, they responded quickly and sent a brand new cable which works very well. Happy with the outcome, and the cable itself.

Fell victim to this knowm issue that other people have mentioned in the reviews. Hooked everything up, could hear the game audio but there's a message on screen which says "No Signal" The product comes with a little card in the box which states this as a common problem, and that if it occurs, you should notify the company directly because they've given you a defective cable (they're sorry). They say that they will send a replacement. Such a pain. I've returned it via Amazon for a refund. After reading other reviews, I wasn't confident that a replacement would be reliable. Save yourself the hassle and find a reputable adapter/upscaler. This company should be implementing some basic testing and quality control instead of issuing faulty products and pre-emptively asking for forgiveness.

Works brilliantly, includes all the required cables, and they're a decent length so no problem with positioning the console.

if you're not willing to solder an HDMI into your console and don't want to spend loads this is a really good purchase The Svideo adaptor is better than the AV

nice but not improving graphics quality

Bought for use with more original hardware SNES. The cable arrived with a card noting potential issues with an earlier version of the cable. I was unfortunate and received a cable that was not wanting to send signal to the TV. The one time I was able to get a picture it was a bit on the blurry side, very bright, and was glitchy on the bottom of the screen. The seller responded to an email very quickly with a list of recommendations to rule out other potential causes. Once confirming the issue was with the cable the seller sent me a revised version that arrived with a few days. The seller even followed up to ensure the new cable was working after it arrived. The picture was darker when compared to the one time I had the older version of the cable working, but the image was stable with no glitching and the quality of the sprites was fantastic. Considering the conversion from such old hardware that was designed for CRT TVs, I would say the cables was doing an superb job. A+ customer service saved my experience with the product and has me rocking out nostalgia nights on my childhood favorites. While I do wish that Amazon initially shipped the revised version of the cable, the lack of comparable products on the market led me to be thankful to end up with a product that works so well.

Works great. I was not able to do a "side by side" style comparison with a Rad2x but this seems competitive. I have a Super Famicom for my kids and was looking for a budget connector for their room. This works perfectly so far. No issues and it looks quite good. I am sure the Rad2x would prevail in a direct comparison but, for the price difference, I would say this wasso close as to be a killer bargain.
