I work for Jersey Mikes Subs, and we slice 105 (min) to 150 tomatoes every day of the year at my store (except for Christmas and Easter). Longest I’ve had the blade is probably 1 1/2 years. Some people would replace it much sooner for two reasons, they can’t “finesse” the tomatoe through the blade with enough skill, or because the stem of the tomatoe isn’t removed while slicing, which causes the blade to bend and from there onward. It’s almost impossible to use, unless you can bend the blade into an optimal position/angle. Two people I work with cut themselves after barely touching the blades. I can't figure out why they thought touching *cutting* blades was a good idea however just wanted to warn that if you are used to a dull blade be careful and warn anyone else that might use it.
