Why buy a conventional square cheese grater, of which 3 sides never get used and, being square, is difficult to wash and dry, when you can buy this: definitely the best cheese grater I've ever used? It comes with a plastic cover to save your fingers when searching for it and other utensils. SO BUY IT!

I have never personally owned a grater because I find the traditional tower style incredibly annoying to clean so when I saw this design I thought - wow, maybe I can finally add grated carrots and cheese and such to my regular diet. I have used it twice since it arrived and can confirm it grates extremely well and is very easy to get fully clean after. However. On the first occasion I used it I was a little careless and grated a few (short) finger nails and got a tiny cut or two. So on the second occasion I used it I mentally checked myself to be far more careful and stop before I got near the end of the carrot etc etc and this time I grated off the tip of my index finger. Who needs the tip of their index finger anyway right? RIGHT? Blood, lots of blood everywhere, lots of pain. Can’t reattach it because it’s mixed in with my grated carrot. So glad I bought myself a Victorian torture device.

I was looking for a good reasonably priced coarse cheese grater. This one is the perfect choice for grating cheeses for making pizzas, it’s easy to hold over a bowl or whatever container you have, it’s super sharp and easy to clean. The size is also just right, very easy to grate large blocks of cheese. The build quality is excellent, it doesn’t feel like it going to break or bend when applying a good amount of pressure on it. It's a very solid grater. The only advise I would give besides saying you should buy this one is that you need to be very careful with it because again it’s really sharp, but that’s what you want it to be.

What an excellent grater! We have been using this grater non stop since purchasing and couldn't recommend it enough. It is made of sturdy metal, is easy to clean using a dish brush (scrub in the direction of the holes), is very sharp (some care needed - not for young hands), and the cover is easy to snap off and on again. It stores inside our utensil drawer with ease, and we love the silicon grips which work to stop it slipping around when used on a chopping board. Highly recommend!

works great on medium cheddar. OXO makes good stuff. little more expensive than many others, but worth it . You get what you pay for.
