Great reliable economic generator
Great little generator. Powers our mini fridge in our farmstand all day while on eco mode and doesnโt run out of fuel. About 12 hours of run time on a full tank (1gallon non ethanol gas). Itโs also very quiet and can you barely hear it 20 feet away which is nice for the farmstand vibe.

YOU NEED OIL - Here's the spec on maintenance
I got my generator yesterday. They are NOT shipped with oil (I knew this, but everyone doesn't). I couldn't find the spec for it online, so I waited for the unit and the owners manual to show up. Here's the information that I wished I could have found so I could have ordered everything all at once: At normal temps, you will need 16.9oz of 10w-30 4-cycle oil to fill it. It did come with a nice little funnel to add the oil. At cold temps (below 25 deg F) use 5w-30. Over 80 degrees F regular temps, use 30 weight. I'm not sure when I'll be using mine, so I've got the 10w-30 on order. Oil should be changed after the first 10 hours of use, then every 6 months or 100 hours of use. The spark plug should be replaced every year or 300 hours of use. I found a part # in the owners manual (100009386) which I think is a Champion L95YC plug (I found it via a Google cross-reference, so I'm not 100% sure)... I haven't confirmed that yet, but I bought 2 of those and will compare. The manual specifies gap 0.6-0.8mm (0.024-0.031 in) tightened to 10-20Nm torque (it comes with a plug wrench). There is a washable air filter in the unit, clean every 3 months or 50 hours of use. Wash it in liquid detergent (ex: Dawn dishwashing liquid), rinse thoroughly, wring out in towel to dry, pour engine oil over filter, work oil through filter, squeeze in paper towel to remove excess oil, re-install. I tend to keep gasoline (I buy premium from a good gas station like Shell/Chevron) in my garage for a year. I use Stabil gas treatment in it to keep it fresh and, every spring (spring cleanout), if I haven't used it I'll pour the gas into one of our cars and buy fresh. NOTE: The gas storage/quality/stabil tips are mine... the manual says to use regular gasoline of 87 Octane or better. -------------------- My oil arrived yesterday. I added the 16.9oz of 10w-30 4-cycle oil I bought (branded Generac) and a bit of fuel (93 octane w/ Stabil added for longevity). Gas cap vent open... choke out... red fuel valve to open... one gentle pull and the engine starts right up. I slid the choke in and it purred beautifully... even quieter than the Yamaha suitcase style that I had years ago (and sold with a trailer) that was supposed to be the quietest in the class. I'm very happy so far!

Primitive 10 day camping trip review
I rarely leave product reviews however I always read reviews before making an expensive purchase. I took the family on a 10-day camping trip at a very popular state park where generators are not allowed during quiet hours at 10 pm. This generator was quiet enough so it would not be noticeable unless you were standing under 75 feet from our campsite. When I first got the generator I gassed it up with super unleaded and premium oil and ran it for 10 hours to break it in. The generator started on the first pull and all was well. I changed the oil and went on the trip. After the first few days of running the generator for 15 hours a day, I ran out of gas in my can. The generator would run around 10 hours on economy mode only running 6 fans and some cell phone charging stations. Well, I went to refill my gas can and because where we were I bought regular unleaded because the price for super unleaded was super high. This was my demise. That night the generator would run an hour and shut off, then another two hours and shut off. I was super frustrated and ready for my money back. The next day I thought maybe I should try to change the oil again. It didn't help the same problem with shutting off after an hour or two. On the 5th day of my trip, I figured why not drain the gas and go back to super unleaded. Well, surprise surprise, the little sucker is bougee and only wants high octane fuel. I never had a problem for the reminding 5 days. Ran like a champ. I have now almost 200 hours running it. So, with good high octane gas and changing the oil often this is an awesome buy.

1 year review
Iโm doing van life and bought this to top off my battery bank when solar isnโt enough. 1st off, Iโm glad I bought this- I didnโt realize it would be as significant of an asset as it has proven to be. I used it more in the winter (less sun) than I do in the spring/summer: in the winter I would run it for about 3-4 hours a day, couple or few days a weekโฆ Hereโs my notes: -As others said, run it once when you get it with regular (donโt need premium) gas for an hour, and IMMEDIATELY change the oil. I think the manual even says to do this. Youโll notice when you change the oil that the used oil looks like someone added glitter to it- thatโs the metal shavings of the engine break in. Iโd hate to think what wouldโve happened if I hadnโt done this. - Of course donโt use it in the rain, but it didnโt seem to like when the air was damp and the ground was wet after a rain either. I have used it when it was sprinkling rain and it worked, but I wouldnโt make a habit of it. -The cap (that you have to vent to โopenโ) can be temperamental. Iโve taken the whole cap off a couple times to make it run. - When to change the oil..? It will tell you- it uses oil when running and it will start being harder to start, wonโt run unless totally level, and finally, the oil light will come on when you pull the start. Change it with 5/30 and boom. Good as new! Been almost a year of running weekly, and itโs still solid ๐๐ป Iโd buy again!!!

Do Not Buy from Power Smart
I bought this generator after reviewing the ratings of other similar wattage machines. The ratings were favorable, but this has not been my experience with this unit or with the company. I used this generator for a one week camping trip with my travel trailer. I went through the proper break-in procedure, including the oil change. The generator worked fine during the trip, 12 hours run time, no issues... I came home and put the generator into storage, draining the carb and treating the fuel in the tank. Over the winter, the oil drain let loose, spilling half the oil contents into the bottom of the machine and onto my (climate controlled) basement floor. I contacted customer support and they directed me to the nearest service provider which they had a contract with. This was 35 miles away. I called this service place and they immediately informed me that they currently had a lawn mower there from this company which they had been waiting on parts for for over 5 months. Bad Omen. I didn't have a choice and dropped it off there. After 7 weeks, they had diagnosed the issue as a missing crush washer, and a misaligned oil filling tube. I told them the crush washer never existed on the unit when I got it (and did the oil change), but that seemed like an easy solution. They agreed, but said that the company did not have a crush washer to send for this unit and that the misaligned oil fill tube couldn't be fixed. They contacted the company and were told to give the the option of keeping the generator??? or receiving a refund. No brainer... I opted for the refund and the paper work was sent in by them. I was then contacted by Power Smart within 2 business days, which was fantastic, and told to send the original purchase receipt, which I did. I was then contacted by Power Smart telling me I would get a check sent to me... for 70% of the original price... So, for all my inconvenience with cleaning up an oil mess, driving out of my way, and then waiting, I'm rewarded with giving this company over $220.00 for my efforts! (this was the 30% difference which the company got to keep for selling me a defective generator unit). The contracted service center that I went to told me they have decided that working with this company is a true nightmare and will not be renewing their contract with Power Smart. No surprise there... So buyer beware.

I think this is getting a bum rap!
I have only ran it a few times, With a total of about 10 hours. So I can not speak to it's longevity, It was very easy to setup and start. It has always started on the first or second pull. Has a good layout and instructions. So why the bad reviews? If you read many of the negative reviews. People are using it as a generator. Not an inverter (which it is). They are putting way to big of a load on it. It was not made for heavy industrial construction. What it can do in the event of a power outage, Run your fridge, a small air conditioner *or many fans", a TV, your router so you can have the internet.... while charging your phones (or other devices). The sine is very good, So no worries about damages to your electronics. You can take it camping, outings, picnics. So far it is a decent litte INVERTER/generator! If you want to mix cement then buy a brute power GENERATOR! Who cares about sensitive electronics.

Good Customer Service
I haven't given the product a good test yet, but I want to review the customer service of the seller, Amerisun Inc. I submitted my Amazon invoice to our power company for a rebate through a program they offer. The power company of course rejected our request, saying our invoice from Amazon was not sufficient because it did not include the model #. I contacted the seller and they replied within a day with exactly what we needed to satisfy the power company bean counters. Thank you for the quick and helpful reply.
