I'm really pleased with this product. I purchased it to setup a semi-rigid exhaust system for my DW735 planer. I go right from the exhaust into a trash can. It works perfectly for this task. Also, just in case it's not clear from the description, this hose isn't really flexible. Basically, you bend it to the shape that you want, and then it holds that position. Very nice unit. Feels natural in the hand and works quite well. Functions are easy to figure out without instructions. Used on my dust collector, I was able to calculate the CFM produced. I used the formula CFM = Area in ft^2/min x Velocity in ft/min. Area = (Dia in inches/24)^2 x Pi (3.14). The velocity is measured by the meter. Useful areas are 6 in = 0.1963 ft^2. 5 in = 0.1364 ft^2. 4 in = 0.0873 ft^2. 2.5 in = 0.0341. The ^ symbol means squared. Use your measured velocity in ft/min multiplied by the area calculated above.

I ordered this hose to replace a hose that had torn inside my Jet table saw. The hose hooks up to the blade shroud to pull dust out of the table saw. The old hose was torn for awhile because when I opened the base cabinet it was full of sawdust. I tried another coil spring hose but for some reason the hose tore in another place. I think my hose clamps (universal types) poked the hose and tore it. After receiving this hose I noticed it was very stiff, but it was like an accordion and could be pulled and pushed to greater or lesser lengths. I tested the hose on my saw, which has connections for a 4 inch hose, and it went on very well. Then I tried to get my old 4 inch hose connectors onto the hose and they didn’t fit. The accordion style of the hose makes the body of the hose larger than the coil type I was using. I had to buy larger hose clamps. It is installed now and the dust collector works very well. It seems to pull more dust away from the blade area than before, but I think the old hose had been torn for a long time – maybe since I bought the saw. I have been consistently cleaning sawdust out of the cabinet area and probably never looked for a tear. Or if I did look I didn’t see it in the dusk like light conditions inside the saw cabinet. The hose’s adjustable length was a lifesaver. I tried it with the saw full up and down, and all the way over to 45 degrees and no problems. It should work well. Be aware that the hose isn’t soft and flexible like many of the see through coil and plastic types. It is somewhat stiff, although it still bends because of the accordion construction. AD2

This collection hose is actually better than I thought because not only is it flexible it can be set in different curves and stays that way. I was thinking it was more flimsily like a dryer connection hose . you can pose this hose in a curve or stretched out or shrunk in position and it stays in that formation. Its more stiff and sturdy than I thought. more like a pvc pipe that you can shape the way you want it to be rather than a hose that changes shape constantly.

This review is for the POWERTEC 70128 4-Inch Flexible Dust Collection Hose, Left Spiral, Black incase amazon pastes it under other products... It's a hose. You bend it and it says bent for the most part. The bend is full and round, doesn't fold up like the less expensive vinyl ducting which I would assume would give better airflow. I will be using it to duct solder fumes away from my desk so being able to reposition it and have it keep it's shape is a big plus. So far happy with it, just have to finish 3d printing the window vent and will put it to work.

This is 4" dust collection hose that will hold it's shape. I've got a small basement woodshop and my dust collection moves from machine to machine as needed. This was purchased to extend the dust port on my Sawstop PCS to the front of the machine for easier connection to my DC. It works for this purpose and connects with a "hose to hose" splice. However next time I need to add three feet of DC hose anywhere, I'm going to buy a 20 foot section from Peachtree 4" x 20' Clear Flex Hose and cut it down to size with plenty to spare for the next time. The cost for this product was too high in my opinion for what I received. It's a 100% plastic accordion hose. Another reviewer recommended using it to replace a failed section inside his tablesaw, and I can see that as one of the best uses for this product (assuming you do not need spare hose in the future).

The hose was of good construction. I have not had a chance to use it on my project but I’m sure it will do what I intended to do.

There is nothing to dislike. It is reliable and does the job for which I ordered it. It is attached to a DeWalt thicknesser and as you can imagine the chips that come out could make an awful mess if not for the dust extraction unit I devised and needs the 4 inch tubing to accommodate the amount of debris that is ejected by the machine that has it's own extraction fan.

I use this to move between a few different tools and it feels very solid. Two of them with a coupler between allows much much better options than flexible tubing (you know the kind). At least this one you can keep mostly compressed until you need it all and it doesn't kill your airspeed inside of it. It also stays were you put it for the most part, so it's good at going around corners and the like (and still lets you not have hard 90s).

I have just received this hose but I am very pleased with the hose although it was quite hard to fit onto my numeric dust collector and my Rockler quick fit handle but so far I am very pleased and I would highly recommend.
