I do a lot of intervention work with struggling readers, mostly K-2. I am excited to begin using this resource with them and see the growth they make. I know it will be very successful. This resource will help all of your readers who struggle with phonics, reading fluency, and spelling. The authors of this book also have supplemental materials that align well with this book. Review: Extremely well-organized for teaching phonics - This book is the best-organized manual for teaching phonics that I have found in all of my decades of professional teaching and tutoring students in reading. The lessons present the correct order for teaching the different concepts of decoding. When you're done with these lessons, then it's time to really dig in to multi-syllable decoding, which requires different materials; but for decoding foundation, this is excellent. Each lesson is clear and systematic and includes opportunities to read and write each letter as well as multisensory activities. Each lesson builds on earlier lessons and there are periodic mini assessments and progress checks. My students appreciate the variety of activities and I appreciate the word lists that accompany each lesson, no more thinking on the spot of words to match a specific sound!
