Q: Are the pots dishwasher safe?

Yes, both pots and lids are dishwasher safe.

Q: How does one turn it off? I am pressing the start/stop button but red '00' are still on.

Stop is to reset to 00, if e.g. you make a mistake. Turn off by pulling out the plug.

Q: How much yogurt do yo add to the milk please as instruction don’t give amounts

Hello, I aways use a yogurt culture. I follow the instructions to make up a litre of culture, and then freeze the yogurt culture once it has been made, I get mine from Amazon. I use ice cube trays with reasonably large blocks. I think each cube is about 15 mls, and I have always got perfect results with this, and I use 3 cubes, so around 45 mls altogether. I guess if you are using live yogurt, rather than culture it would be the same, so around 3 good tablespoons to add to your milk.

Q: Has anyone tested the temperature with a thermometer? Some yogurts like reuteri require very specific temperatures that can't go above 38 degrees?

Yes I make reuteri yoghurt as well as old school. I tested the temp at 42 degrees!!! I limped on turning it on for an hour or so then letting it cool and so on, I turned it off at night and insulated with towels. Not happy at all at the faff but it makes good ordinary yoghurt but bear in mind if you want to do a 24 hour method you will run into trouble again. I have found out however that If I put on my oven light on only, no heat that it does maintain a pretty even 38 which will allow me to sleep happily. I am just about to embark on my first batch this way. If you have a double oven and want to use it remember the heat will be affected in your yoghurt oven. I may update my review if I am successful. I refuse to chance my arm buying a more expensive bulky tray type. It is a shame as this model looked the nicest unobtrusive compact maker. Hope this helps.
