John Packer - Smith Watkins Silver Plated Cornet

I'm an old man. I own 2 professional grade Trumpets. I bought a Cornet (JP171SWS) because my friend, also old, told me when his trumpet wares him out he grabs his Cornet. It's more forgiving.So I bought this one and here are specifics:1. It was delivered as indicated when I placed the order.2. The carrying case is very nice and adequate.3. The horn is absolutely beautiful to the eye.4. It has good tone and valve action.In short, I love it. Typically a student grade horn will not hold up to professional rigors. I've had this one only a few weeks. I play all my horns everyday. So far the Cornet has not failed me. But it might be too soon to tell. However, I wouldn't be surprised if this horn lasted a young student player right into his professional years.P.S. check with your instructor on the mouthpiece. I opted to get a Cornet mouthpiece with the same cup dimensions I use on my Trumpets.

This is a very high quality instrument. I heard they were good but come on. Makes my Jean Paul trumpet feel cheap. The silver adds an extra layer of beauty. Just such a nice instrument. You will be 100% satisfied.

Comes with valve oil (Not good valve oil) Came in a very nice sturdy and good quality case. No gloves and no slide grease. Slides came pre-greased though. Top of valves have a very pretty marble look and they have the felt. The mouth piece is much better than i expected. It is really nice :) The cornet has a nice tone and seems to be naturally a bit sharp (That could just be me) The instrument is definitely new and was made with great quality :) I am very pleased and glad this is what i chose! (I took these pictures with my laptop! Sorry for the not-so-lovely photo quality)
