Z 50 Nib Set for joy 1.1 Pen

Great nib just like the pens. Easy to exchange the nib while the pen is inked without getting too much ink on your fingers. The nib is a little scratchy, but flows well. Line thickness is about the same as a broad in other pens. Lady is always a good bet.

Arrived on time, as described, no issues. Combined with Oxblood red ink, transformed my journaling. Good quality construction.

Defenitly needed to be tuned and smoothed on arrival. Packaging was, lacking to say the least. No box or anything to protect it just a clear plastic bag inside a large envelope. I was sure I had lost it art first but found it tucked in the tiny corner of the shipping bag, which wasnt even bubble wrapped. Im not surprised it was scratchy I am surprised it wasnt destroyed such poor shipping practice. All the same, I opened and tested and it was dry and scratchy and horrid. I pulled it back off and shimmed the tines to improve flow and then realigned the tipping under a micro-loop to ensure they were perfect. Once done that process it was a nice, juicy, flow writer but still sharp. I decided to do some gentle smoothing and after just a few minutes it was writing very exceptionally. This nib, and the pen it went onto were gifts for my Mother so they had to be perfect! She loves them both, she especially loves this new stub nib! It's worth the effort if you ask me, it shouldn't be necessary but its worth doing.

Buttery smooth right out of the box.

I have experience with fountain pens, so this isn't entirely user error. Arrived with tines misaligned, only scratchy in 2 directions. I attempted to correct. No ink flow. Washed, flossed, rewashed, primed with ink, got advice from experts . . . Still won't write. In theory it should not require a breather hole, but it does not work except as a dip nib. Flossed so many times tines got slightly askew and it barely writes scratchy. Not normal FP feedback, but tearing up cheap paper scratchy. Only kept it in case someone wants to use it as an experiment someday. Otherwise I was about to return it. Not worth sending to a grinder to have it corrected. Waste of money and effort.

Small fine italic/stub nibs aren't too common and this one is awesome. I write with my pen tilted a bit on an angle so that the nib is on a 45 degree angle and you get very nice italic looking writing that is small enough to use on 5mm gridded notebooks. Wasn't sure if it was a legit lamy nib or not as I would not have a way of knowing but the nib fits like a glove and writes amazing. I have this in my Lamy Safari which came with a Broad nib which I dont like as its very round and boring but this nib is excelled. There is no "tip" to this nib since its a stub/italic so the tines themselves are ground flat with rounded corners and is extremely smooth. If this is what you're looking for then you wont be disappointed with this nib for your Lamy Safari/Joy or whatever other pens that use Safari nibs.

Perfect wide nib. I am new to the fountain pen experience and having enjoyment finding the perfect writing instrument. What I am finding is that all 1.1 nibs are not equal…..this one doesn’t over do it with ink.

Comprata per sostituire la punta della mia Lamy Safari che non scorreva più bene. Ho voluto provare direttamente il ricambio optando per un diverso tratto. - Questo modello 1.1 Italic si presta a una scrittura più lenta con un tratto che a seconda l'inclinazione diventa più fine e più spesso, rendendo di fatto più morbida anche la calligrafia più nervosa. - Consiglio questo ricambio a chiunque per necessità o per interesse vuole cambiare la punta della propria stilografica. - Lo sconsiglio invece a chi guarda il prezzo del ricambio, il costo della singola punta rispecchia la sua qualità. Ma è anche troppo vicina all'acquisto di una penna nuova. Inoltre se si è abituati al tratto F (fine) si potrebbe avere difficoltà ad abituarsi al nuovo tratto.

Plumín muy correcto para escribir latras con trazos de diferentes anchos. Eso sí, algo caro.
