They say it's active noise cancelling like a balanced cable with out of phase signal ect...i can't say i am not a masters in aerospace electronics like my colleagues. I can tell you i had not much or no discernable improvement in my case for data +- on usb cables. But as a plug in in circuit noise filter a very nice discernable improvement. On the Empty ports on a NUC USB bus and the same on a small streamer. At least x2 i have 4 now after borrowing 2. Smaall form PC'S are electrically noisy other devices not as filtered by design. But in my use case worked well supplementing or make up for a lack of inbuilt noise filtering in the design of a streamer / PC. You can normally chat on headfi or email them with questions. On a data cable for me no... in circuit bus filter yes for me no brainer.. equipment dependant... Just get 2 and try if not return them. To satisfy your curiosity.. Cheers Dave **Q: Would this reduce digital interference if plugged in between my pc and audio interface?** A: No it won't, this isn't the right one it's the red one your looking for. This has a slightly different function, I had bought it realised this and had to return it. Also be careful if you use an external power source for the other USB as I had it plugged into my pc and attached my audio interface to the other end and also powered the USB through its power adapter input hole and it blew my focusrite solo. The reason for external power is to minimise the electrical current coming from the pc through the USB if needs be. But that said for me it has a very very minimal affect on the interference and I still get a lot of computer noise coming through my speakers. Down the line a power Conditioner is probably the best option as the issue might not just be the pc but the power that's running through the pc. Have a quick Google and see. **Q: does this reduce the music in my car when I plug it into my Bluetooth speaker in my car and charge my phone off it ?** A: iSilencer is designed to be plugged into the USB port of the source of a digital signal to filter the signal "streamed" via the USB cable. The configuration you describe seems to be quite different and iSilencer would not have any effect on audio quality, as apparently the Bluetooth speaker is connected to you phone via bluetooth and USB only provides power to the phone. **Q: Will the usb A-A version female section, fit into the ifi hip dac male slot as it is only 18mm wide and the isilencer spec states 20mm wide** A: Hi, Unfortunately the iSilencer will not fit into the hip-dac.
