Terrific triple-purpose mirror
We put this in a fully loaded 2022 Ford Escape SEL and it fit perfectly. There are cheaper auto-dimming rearview mirrors out there, but this one possesses great quality and functionality. We purchased this mirror because of the backlighting of the homelink buttons. The mirror functions very well. The compass is accurate, the homelink buttons all work properly, and the backlighting makes all buttons easy to find. If your automaker cheaped-out and provided a non-automatic dimming rearview mirror and no universal garage remote, this mirror is a great option. The compass does come in handy as well. Our SEL does have factory navigation, but if the Nav screen is not up, it does not show a compass anywhere - which is weird because we have the full digital instrument panel which has room to show the compass, but it does not. We also have a Chevrolet Traverse with factory nav and it does show the compass when the Nav screen is not up. Ford really messed up not providing an auto-dimming rearview mirror or universal remote in a fully loaded SEL, but this mirror made up for Ford’s cheapness.

Excellent Rearview Mirror
This rearview mirror was easy to installed on my 2021 Chevy Colorado. Need to get installation instruction from Gentex website. It works great, compass is a nice feature as well as the home link controls. Goodbye to the garage door opener. Color of the power wires varies, but a quick call to Gentex technical support provided help.

Worked perfectly right out of the box.
Compass calibrated quickly. Homelink works great with my openers, even shows the direction the door is traveling! Perfect addition to my 2021 Frontier.

Made well packed with many features except On-star
I was very excited when this mirror arrived. It looked and feel like a solid piece of merchandise. I couldn’t wait to put it in, and then I realized that was not gonna occur. The mirror in my car has On-star this mirror had all the features without OnStar so I have to go back look for one that has On-star and all the features that this mirror offered when you look and you go to get the GM type the prices go crazy $600. That’s way above the price point that I want to spend 300 was a great price but to get one with the OnStar and the garage door in the compass you were going as high as 600. Wow looks like I’m staying with the original mirror for now

There are detailed instructions
Just like most of the people here, I didn't get instructions in the box. Figured out most, but I found on Advent Gentex's website very detailed PDFs for installation with pictures.
