Quality Meat, Authentic Flavor.
Years ago in the US, haggis was a specialty rarely seen beyond the annual Burns Night or Highland Games. After spending two weeks in Scotland and enjoying haggis every day, I was really craving it! While the price may seen high for canned meat, it's not prohibitive, and quality costs. The haggis was firm and not runny, but not crumbly as some I've had. The seasoning is mild - as expected with a mass-market product. I like to line a muffin tin with pastry dough and spoon haggis into it as a meat pie. Slainte!

Good stuff!
My first experience with haggis, and I wasn't disappointed. It's similar in appearance to canned roast beef hash, but with steel-cut oats in place of the diced potatoes present in hash. Very well seasoned and spiced, it has a rich flavor and texture. It's good eaten by itself, but I found it better to have some potatoes or veggies on the fork with it to cut some of the richness. Its flavor would blend well with just about any savory flavor you may want to eat along with it. Would also be great with crackers and cheese on a game-day appetizer tray, and next time I order some I'm going to try it with mac n' cheese. I'm thinking that would be an awesome supper!

Good haggis recipe
Iโve wanted to try haggis and finally got this. I got the haggis with lamb and fried mine with eggs for brunch. I was a little turned off by the organ meat aftertaste. All in all a good product it you want an authentic tasting haggis

Tinned haggis, very close to what I grew up with
As with everything in a tin I was sceptical if it was going to taste somewhat close to the haggis I grew up eating. Not disappointed it was pretty close in taste given the US restrictions in ingredients. Definitely worth the money and will certainly but it again. Yum

I Can't Import It, So This Is The Way To Go.
Considering that this is "Haggis In A Can" this is a very high quality product. I have no hesitation in offering this to my guests on 'Burns Night'. At first they were hesitant but now they come prepared with "lunch boxes" for the leftovers. My Tip:- a quick splash of whisky and the addition of some fresh butter while warming it in the oven. Brings a little life to the dish! Should have added. Yes, I'm Scottish and have tasted the original for many years. However I must insist you have not only good Tatties (potatoes) but get real Neeps (Scottish turnip; in the shop, hard as a bowling ball) to accompany. Also try making a Whisky Sauce, dead easy.

Very tasty!
This was my first time daring to try "Americanised" haggis; Also my first time for CANNED haggis... Naturally, I expected the worst. To my most pleasant surprise, it was incredible! I had it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a few days until it was gone, and I already can't wait until I can order more! My mum, even more skeptical than I was, swears that there is no chance it can "compare tae home," so I vowed that next time she visits, I will be sure to have one for her to try. It's been too long for me, but even IF it doesn't taste quite authentic, I love it!

Heart Attack in a Can
No one expects this to be health food, and in fairness I did not notice the nutrition label included in the listing. But I suspect very few people expect a 14.5-ounce can of anything to contain 132% of your daily value of fat, 212% of your daily value of saturated fat, and 120% of your DV for cholesterol. A whopping 84 grams of fat, 44 grams of saturated fat and 190 calories from fat. Total calories? The can I received said 30. Original listing has a real number. Surprisingly, it's only 32% DV for sodium, which is a lot for 14.5 ounces of food but comparable to lots of bad-for-you canned goods. Tastes kind of like canned hash, but not as good. Picture oats mixed in the grease you would normally throw out from your frying pan -- the grease from several frying pans actually -- with some spices tossed in. I ordered two cans. Tossed part of the first one out after cooking and tossed out the second one unopened.

High Priced Treat!!!
I tried this product out of curiosity and I found the texture reminded me of Scrapple, but more chewy, with its own distinct flavor which I find quite tasty........it's not just glorified corned beef hash!!!! It can be eaten as a meal or as a snack food on crackers or even added to salsa to give it more texture and change its taste profile. However, due to its stratospheric price tag, I won't be dining on this stuff on a frequent basis. I deducted 2 stars for excessive cost.......nearly $14.00 a can, yikes!!!!!
