Silk Beading Cord and Needle, Size 4, White

After purchasing a pearl necklace that came unknotted, I took matters into my own hands and decided to take apart the strand and knot my own necklace. After much research, I learned, you need a good silk thread to secure your precious bounty from the sea. Unsure what to purchase, I went with the reviews and wasn't sorry. The pearls slid easily over the thread and, once in place and the knot was secured, I had full confidence no pearls would be coming off. The thread is strong and knots perfectly, although, you want to make sure your knot is positioned correctly before you pull it tight because once the knot is made, there is no way to untie and reposition. Griffin will be my Silk Thread of choice...

I truly like that if you initially use the back end of the cord, you can use this for 2 to 3 projects!. The needle is long enough that, if the needle end gets 'wonky' you can straighten it and clip it to have a new needle!

I used it for Rudraksha stringing. It’s sturdy and comes with a needle, so very helpful. I will recommend.

Looked everywhere for silk beading thread and cord and couldn't find it, only the polyester stuff. News flash: polyester or man made thread is very bad. Pearls look their best when beaded with really good quality threads and silk is the best. The strength of silk is phenomenal for it's very small size. Will not use anything else with the beautiful fresh water pearls I use.

My wife has a long string of pearls that was handed down through many generations of her family. The silk thread finally broke after nearly 100 years. Griffin Silk Beading Cord and Needle (size 4) helped me to restring the many pearls in 15 minutes with plenty of silk to spare. Would highly recommend this product for anyone trying to restring a silk-string necklace (by the way, the diameter of the silk thread varies according to need).

Didn't know which size to purchase, so I purchased three sizes. The larger size was the correct fit. This worked very well for my first attempt at stringing my wife's pearl necklace. I would absolutely recommend for anyone that want to do their own beading or restringing.

Very pleased with this purchase. The pre-attached beading needle makes this silk really easy to use. If you're wanting to try stringing beads, or if you find threading a beading needle fiddly, I recommend this product as it's really easy to use. Unwind the full length of silk, and tie a knot in the end without the needle. Then thread your beads onto the silk using the end with the needle, until you have the desired amount of beads strung for your necklace (or bracelet, or whatever you're making). Then you can cut off the strung beads, leaving the remaining length of silk with the needle attached, so you can make another necklace. You get 2 metres of silk, so you will have enough for more than one necklace. When you unwind the silk, it will have some kinks in it from being wrapped around the card. But don't worry, as these will not affect your necklace and when the beads are strung onto the silk it will appear "straight". The beading needle is made of flexible wire, so it's really easy to use and guide it through the beads. Having it already attached was really convenient, as I find threading beading needle very fiddly.
