Both the scale and this weights set, worked perfectly. I've since verified the other 3 digital scales that I have. I was surprised how accurate these scales and the weights are. It was a good price. The solid weights with the ball on the top were easy to grasp and use. The box they come in looks durable and well built. I only have one picky issue. There are the smaller "mg." weights which are basically cut from a sheet of aluminum (they seem to be pretty accurate from what testing I could do.) . . . but they are difficult to grasp as "tiny flat sheets", so I bent the corners up on the sheets so that I could grasp them with the enclosed tweezers (which seem fine). I can usually grasp the tiny bent corners to pick them up (I usually have a better idea to pass on, but that idea hasn't jumped out of my brain yet. . ) The tiny ones work in the end. I'd like to have the little clear plastic cover on the tiny weights be a little more secure because it seems to "open" when you move the box around and then the "tiny ones" run around loose in the box. I don't plan on using the "mg." weights much, so I just taped the "tiny one cover" on one end to make it more secure. I highly recommend this product (even with my picky comments). I just checked the case to see if it was under the foam, but it doesn’t come apart. Each weight was accurate on several different scales though. **Q: How do you use those to calibrate scale with ounces only?** A: you can calculate by converting grams to ounces : 1 oz = 28.41 grams. **Q: What is the diameter of the largest weight?** A: Largest weight ( 100 grams ) is 3 inches in diameter and 3/4 of an inch side to side. **Q: The list indicates they are made of stainless steel, but then says they are made from “solid feeling coated metal”. Are they actually electroplated?** A: What I can confirm is the larger weights are magnetic the small ones that look like cut sheet metal are not magnetic. Usually stainless is not magnetic however with all the variations of it I can't say for sure if thats still true. I wanted the set basically to make sure the HO race cars track scale was repeating the same weight and so the others could check there own scales to make sure they didn't show up and there car was to light for the class they race in. I wouldn't depend on them if you need certified weight standards for scales used to sell stuff. But if you have a certified scale and the weight of the standard is off you can see if it repeats and gives you the same weight as when it was certified. I found that some of them are spot on and some are off a tiny bit if my scale is correct. They are not super high quality but for what I needed it for they work. I am not sure how else to really test the metal to tell what it is made of other than scraping or sanding them down but then they would be lighter and I still might not know what they are made of if they didn't change color. The different weights add up as they should. 10g+20g+20g indicates the same as a 50g weight. The smallest weights don't fit in their wells correctly & need a little modification with a pair of pliers.
