Great bed for a reasonable price
Pros: Easy to assemble with provided tools. Instructions are clear and concise. Looks nice. No squeaking, even when supporting vigorous... activity. Bed height is great with just a pillowtop mattress on it. Cons: I did buy some adhesive furniture pads to go on the bottom of the feet to protect the hardwood floor, the plastic bottoms on the feet were scratching the floor. On hardwood with fuzzy pads on the feet it does slide around a little bit if you get up or sit down too fast. So far has not been a problem but I check on the smaller support legs every so often to make sure they haven't gotten bent from moving around. I may get a rug to put under it. Other thoughts: I re-tightened one of the smaller legs (they just screw in) after about a week. I would suggest checking the tightness of the screws and whatnot after about a week to make sure nothing has loosened up. Update 10-July-2015 Moved to a new place. The bed can be broken down into 4 parts that make it relatively easy to move (headboard, footboard, split platform into 2 sections). It was pretty easy to take apart and put back together. At the new place the bed was sliding around a LOT. It would slip out a foot from the wall, we would slide it back, it would slip around some more. The sliding while a little annoying wouldn't be a big deal except the smaller support legs underneath were starting to get bent. Also with things moving about it started to get a little squeaky. Solved the problem by cutting little pieces of 'non-slip shelf liner' and placing them under the legs. Now the bed does not slide around at all, and is quieter.

Great value for money
This is a very sturdy bed which is relatively simple to assemble, and looks great in the room. It is hard to fault at the price, and while it is apparent when putting it together that construction quality is not entirely of the highest standard, once assembled it looks like a bed worth far more than it costs. One significant complaint is that on arrival, I found the box to have come apart in transit. An attempt had been made to tape it back together, but it had clearly come apart again. None of the contents were lost because the parts were well packaged inside the box, but something had scuffed the top corner of both the head and footboards. The box is inadequate for the size and weight of the package. Assembly took no more than an hour and the instructions are simple and easy to understand. It would have been easier to have a second person to assist in assembly since there are a couple of steps which require a part to be held level at one end while being fastened at the other, but this is not a problem that is difficult to work around. In one or two places it was fiddly to line up bolt holes and components, but this is not precision engineering so is to be expected to some degree. The finish on this bed is a dark bronze with a rough texture. It looks easy to scratch but it is more durable than it appears.

Good deal!
The metal bed is firm and not squeaky as mentioned in a few comments. Just make sure you lock the screws tightly in the end. The instructions were nice, and intuitive to follow. It took me about 3 hours to assemble the whole thing together. But it is definitely not for people with a light heart. Sometimes it is hard to know which way a piece would go and I had to screw and unscrew a couple of times to get everything right, phew! (my failing, not the instruction manual's fault). Probably it was harder for me because I am doing this for the first time. The manufacturers could have done a better job on the finish. It is coarse (you will not like to touch it at all). the edges are pointy, something to be careful of for people like me who keep bumping their knees onto bed corners. The bed slats are locked into place using pins which are much harder to pull out with bare hands and impossible with any of the tools that comes with the product. Be very sure you have got everything right before putting them in. One more thing to keep in mind is while attempting to put it together do NOT lock the screws tightly at first (it also says that in the manual and I found it a very useful advice while building it). Put everything together and only after you are good to go, bolt them tight. Once I was done, the structure felt strong. I have my mattress and its box spring(yes, shock!) on it right now and I am writing this comment sitting on top of it (some 12'' above the ground). I had my friend sit on it with me and nothing failed. Overall I think it is a nice product. I've decided to keep it and sell the box spring. Rating it 3 stars because of the metal finish, pointy edges and the bed slat pins. But a good deal for something costing less than $150.

No
The bed came scratched in some places and the box was beaten up bad, I was EXTREMELY surprised that all the pieces were still inside considering the huge open gaps on the box. The bed itself is great and very sturdy I was able to assemble this bed by myself in an hour and 15 minutes. It comes with the tools that you need to assemble it (wrench and hex wrench) and the directions are very clear. I would definitely recommend having two people assemble this, it would cut assembly time in half and make it a lot easier. Here is an assembly tip: when connecting the slats, loosen part H on one side, or the slats won't slide in. PLEASE NOTE: If you have wooden floors this is NOT the bed for you, I have wooden floors and it is constantly sliding, even when I just sit on it 2 years later: My floors are scratched to hell, gouged really. The bed slides all over the place, protective stickies don't even stay on because it slides so much, just sitting down shifts it. The center support rod is bent at an angle. It just freaking sucks.

Great price, modern look, sturdy, and easy to put together
This bed rocks! But not literally. Let's face it, we all want a bed that's stylish for what we like and sturdy enough to do the bone dance without too much noise. In addition to durability, we need something easy to put together, move, and to use with or without a box spring. This bed has plenty of positives: 1. I'm a 230 lb. guy who typically has girls in my bed between 110-200 lbs, depending on mood. Although I've only had a 130 lb. lady in this one, it surely can hold another 75 lbs of weight without buckling from the thunder hump. 2. The bed is easy to put together upon arrival and lightweight. I didn't have a problem carrying to my 3rd floor apartment and it fit snug inside the trunk of an early 2000's model Chevy Impala with the back seats folded down. 3. The bed can be used with or without a box spring. I currently use the box spring, but it makes the mattress a little high for my liking and for the design of the footboard area. It doesn't look bad, but I'd recommend just planning on using a mattress. 4. It's quiet, minus the occasional sound from the metal poles that go across the bottom when I get out of bed. Depending on how hungover or sore I am, I usually hope right up opposed to rolling onto the very edge just to force myself to stand. 5. I like the bed so far. I give it 4 out of 5 stars because it's not a 5-star bed and I wasn't looking for a 5-star bed on my budget. For this price, you're going to like it and I wouldn't hesitate to order it again.

Great bed. Mines perfect.
I personally love my frame. I'm not sure why the rating dropped since I purchased it (about a year ago). Mine is very sturdy, well made, and fit/assembled perfectly. It shipped fast, and in great condition *excluding one spot that had wear. About the size of two quarters, it looks like metal rubbed against itself during the trip but it's not noticeable unless you are looking for flaws. I'm 170 lbs and have just a mattress atop of it. I also have company over every now and then... So far I've seen no issues many other people mention. No buckling, bending, or breaking. My honest opinion? lazy assembly. You can throw this thing together, or you can take your time and do it right. Mine feels unbreakable and I truly have no idea what people are doing to this frame to get it in the condition of some of these pictures. Though, i have speculation it's either poor assembly, or little debbie snack cakes. I could see some of that happening if you were running and jumping on the bed. Not sure why you would be (I'm no longer 7) but even still... You would have to be very large, moving at a good click to do the damage presented in other photos. If you assemble it correctly, I think it should last 20+ years.

Great purchase
The bed arrived three days after I ordered it. There was absolutely no damage to the box at all and all the parts/pieces were wrapped in plastic with no scratches on anything. I placed this order with my fingers crossed based on other reviews and am so glad I placed the order. From start to finish I unboxed it and put it together by myself in 45 mins. It appears to be very sturdy and fits together very well. All holes were properly drilled and all the screws went right in straight and true. The finish appears to be a little thin but no scratches or bare spots are present. It is a light weight frame, only 45 pounds but will serve the purpose for my grandchildren to spend the night with Grandma just fine for years. Once the standard mattress is on the frame it is very comfortable. I like the way the center supports are set back from the sides so you don't stub your toes on them when walking up to the side of the bed. It sits far enough off the floor that I am able to store under bed storage boxes under the bed. A nice plus over some kids beds. It is a very good reproduction of an iron bed and is very attractive. I did place some 1x2 scraps between the bed legs and the baseboard since the outward curving point of the headboard and foot board sticks out a little farther than the bed legs. Since the bed is so lightweight I could just see kids getting on and off the bed bumping the corner into the wall time and again and damaging the wall. I am glad I paid attention to the positive reviews and wasn't put off by the shipping problem reviews. I am pleased with my purchase.

I Sincerely Regret This Purchase
I needed a a platform bed or something that could be used as a platform bed to put a 14" Memory Foam Mattress on. Adding the mattress to a queen box spring meant I would need a step stool to climb into bed so I began looking for a platform bed. I loved the colour and the way this one looked on line. After reading the reviews at that time, about 1-1/2 years ago, and finding that the majority of them were negative I should have continued my search but I just loved the way the headboard and foot-board looked. I decided to go against my gut feeling and ordered the bed anyway. It arrived in a flat cardboard box with what seemed to be a gazillion metal pieces. Some of the pieces and the headboard had a few scuffs and scratches but nothing I couldn't live with. The headboard and foot-board were the only two pieces that didn't have to be assembled. The directions were pretty useless so a friend and I just eyeballed everything and began assembly. When we finally got it together it was beautiful and I loved it until a few months passed. The first problem was the metal legs attached to the platform. They refused to sit flat on the floor and because they sat at a slight angle or moved every time someone sat on the bed, they began to cut into my linoleum floor. I ended up having to buy some rubber floor guards used on chairs to make do until I could purchase a area rug to put underneath. Several months pass and I get up one morning and my side of the bed is about 1/2 foot away from the wall. I push the bed back in place and for several mornings I would get up and the bed would again be 1/2 foot away from the wall. I finally figured out what was happening when I sat down on the center edge of the bed and it moved away from the wall again. The long side piece of the platform you see in the picture is actually two pieces of square metal that inserts into each other and is bolted together. That is the weak link in the strength of the bed. That is exactly where my backside (one of the heaviest parts of my body) was laying when I was asleep. The side rail was beginning to fold in the center. Needless to say that was it for the frame that came with the bed. It was time to figure something else out before the frame completely bent into. (In case anyone is wondering I'm not over weight nor am I a big person.) . Being determined to make use of this bed, since I was already out 180 bucks, I asked a friend to make me a wooden platform that I could place on a queen sized bed frame. This was strong enough to hold the 14" memory foam mattress and it wasn't to tall, so we then attempted to attach the headboard to the bed-frame. That is when I discovered that the actual headboard and foot-board are about an inch smaller than the standard measurements for queen size bedding (60"X80"). There was no way to attach the headboard to the new bed-frame. The screws wouldn't line up. I knew the mattress had always been a little wider than the frame that came with the bed but I assumed that it was due to memory foam expansion since the mattress arrived in a vacuum sealed plastic bag with all the air removed. I wish I had measured the bed when it first arrived and I would have sent it back. Now I'm waiting for a STRUCTURES by Malouf Bed Frame Headboard Bracket Modification Plate Vertical Modi, Set of 2 to arrive to see if I can at least attach the headboard, another $19 that may or may not work. If that works and I want to attach the foot-board I'll have to shell out another $30 for a Bed Claw Universal Footboard Attachment Kit, with Combo Bag Hardware . Total Cost to modify and use this headboard and foot-board $179 - Original price of bed $50 - Lumber to build wooden platform $55 - Queen size bed-frame $19 - headboard expansion plates $30 - Foot-board attachment kit $330 - Total spent to date I still think it's a beautiful bed but I wish I had listened to other reviews and purchased a different bed. I sincerely regret this purchase.
