That's the kind of affect that the series can have on people, and it was the same for me. All that being said, if you're a Dark Tower fan, this book is a must. I carry it with me frequently wherever I go, so that at any given time, if I have a down moment, I can stroll through it and get a taste of Mid-World, of the memories, of the journey of the Dark Tower series. It's so complete, from details you might have missed or forgotten, to the languages and terms of the various worlds in the books, to the mythologies and stories, even creation stories, to maps of the ka-tet's journey, and diagrams, my favorite being of Maturin carrying the universe on his shell, with the universe being represented as the Dark Tower and the guardians and their beams all connecting. Essentially it's a bible for the Dark Tower, and because I'm a bit odd like that and a considerable fanatic, I find myself wondering: why would anyone bother with actual religious texts when this exists?
