It went on pretty good considering the cheap gun I bought because I couldn’t find my old good one. On the inside, it went into places that blasting couldn’t get. It turned purple, and after 4 days, I sprayed epoxy primer over everything and it adhered well. I live in Arizona where the humidity is very low, so consider your humidity levels, you don’t want to trap moisture between your metal and this stuff. This stuff is good for existing rust, not so much for preventing rust from trapped moisture, or your finger prints.

It looks like milk and does not have any nasty odor. I simply brushed it liberally on the rusty spots on the undercarriage, and within a day or two I noticed the rust was gone. No scraping or sanding required. I also did not bother painting over it afterward as the rust was all surface level and this really took care of it. Unfortunately, I only used about 1 quart of the stuff so I have a ton left over... if it came in a smaller container option that would be great. But still, for the price it worked great and took care of the problem, so I highly recommend.

**Q: How many square feet of coverage is expected with 1 gal? I have a scraped steel trailer bed with surface about 6 x 18 feet I want to coat, then paint.**
A: I used 1/2 of the gallon on a 9x8 steel flatbed. 2 coats. Worked amazing. It converts whatever rust it touches to a back hard substance. If you have rust scale it soaks it up and turns hard.

**Q: What is the shelf life of this product once opened?**
A: There is a product called "End All Rust that I purchased in 2003 and just used it again this year 2023.  A little clabber at the bottom of the jug, but it did a great job!  Still working after 20 years.  I can't see why this FDC wouldn't last at least half of those years.  Rust converter is rust converter.

**Q: Can I apply this to a wet surface?**
A: It applies just fine on a wet surface, but you're diluting it.  That said, as always, you would probably have better results on a prepped surface.

**Q: If used on frame does it have to be painted?**
A: No it doesn't. When cured, it will leave a black polymer finish that's fully sealed & waterproof.

If you decide to paint it afterwards, use a high quality oil based paint.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cut Prep time down - great results with less elbow grease

I recently bought the Rust Converter to use on the roof of my 2005 Toyota 4Runner. Years of roof loads had left scratches all over the roof that subsequently rusted. I was dreading the thought of sanding the roof to remove the rust. I was actually looking for a metal treatment product to put on the roof after I sanded when I found the rust converter. I followed directions and lightly sanded the roof to remove high spots and generally smooth the roof for painting. I applied the solution with a brush, waited for several hours and gave it a second coat. The rust converter worked as advertised and turned all the rust spots to a dark black color. I am ready to paint and extremely pleased that this product took my prep time down from 5 or 6 hours to less than 2. The only comment I will make to first time buyers is that -- a little goes a long way. Not wanting to run short I ordered the gallon size. After applying two coats and touching up some other areas around the house, I found I used a little over a pint. So gauge you needs by that. I am a USCG Captain and can see the value of using this product a thousand places on my boat. It is a great product and I will buy it again. Tom -- Charleston SC
