Jesus Is King is the ninth studio album by American rapper and producer Kanye West. It was released on October 25, 2019, through GOOD Music and distributed by Def Jam Recordings. The album follows a Christian theme, with West describing it as "an expression of the gospel." Review: Uplifting and Authentic Music. I love it. - This music is absolutely mesmerizing and the lyrics sound as if they come straight from Kanye’s heart and soul. It’s actually the first recording I’d heard by West; I clicked on it on desertcart Music’s home page out of curiosity. I don’t follow Christian music or rap/hip-hop, but this is a gorgeously-produced, heartfelt and original fusion of the two that avoids cliches. You really owe it to yourself to listen to it, especially if you hunger for a little spirit from an extremely talented though imperfect man (as we are all imperfect.) There isn’t a bad track on the album, but my favorites are “Selah,” “Use This Gospel,” and “On God.” But honestly I love the whole thing, and I’m not especially religiously observant (as far as churchgoing is concerned, anyway), but this brings me back to what faith sounds like in a world that can be so hard, and I’m grateful for that. West acknowledges that “it’s a hard road to heaven“ but faith in Christ will always put his feet on the right path. While the theme of each song is universal, in each song Kanye gives his own testimony. A 1-star reviewer based his critique solely on two lines of the song “Closed on Sunday,” a soberly pretty, thoughtful song about reserving Sunday as a day of family recollection and prayer. Review: Kanye's album is real, raw and Jesus inspired - amazing music! - Want to start off by saying that the first song I heard was in the car on my way home from work - Selah. I had the volume up. My entire body had goosebumps, from the tips of the hair on my head, to my toes... and teared up, and I don't cry often! lol. Heard so many stories of friends, family and coworkers being moved by Kanye's music for Jesus! Kanye is right, culture doesn't "own" all the best rappers and celebrities. His album shows off his artistic talents - inspiring music AND message. So many songs should be on mainstream radio, but who cares, people are listening to it and sharing it w/out the influence and control of the mainstream culture. My wife and I also saw one of his Sunday Services online and it was awesome to see what an awesome father he is, with his daughter worshiping right beside him : ) My entire family is rooting for Kanye, but most importantly rooting for Jesus! We will be praying for Kanye in his walk and for all those that he's leading to Jesus!!!

Brought me to tears - can't get enough of this!
This album literally brought me to tears multiple times the first few times I listened to it. The lyrics are super genuine, real, theologically sound, even prayerful at times - better than any "Christian" songs out there. As expected from Kanye, the production quality is top-notch - again, better than any "Christian" music. I was even brought to just tears of gratitude that God has given us this gift of such a talented modern popular music artist to create not only music that I'm "allowed" to listen to but that is so, so GOOD, in so many ways! I used to listen to Kanye before I reverted to Christianity, so on a personal level, it also felt like just a great gift from God, and an example of how he can redeem all things, even rap music! :D

Decent album
It’s kinda weird getting a CD with an album cover that’s a record but it’s a decent album.

Cautiously Optimistic
This album brought tears to my eyes and I don't call myself a Kanye fan. The beats, the choir and the meaning are all touching attributes to the tracks but what really gets to me is the pure faith that radiates from the lyrics. Every believer knows what that feels like when you first give your life to Christ. The new wave of deep joy and forgiveness nobody can explain in the natural world. Kanye has done something with this album I didn't think was possible for this battle weary soldier. Bring back that fresh fire from 18 years ago. *Favorite Tracks - Selah, Water & Every Hour*
