Sonik Blast CMG Whistle with Lanyard, Orange

Very loud, ear-splittingly loud if you really blast it. Great thing is that you don't have to go full-force to get a sound, it will whistle lightly if you blow lightly, and whistle big if you blow big. I'm kind of afraid to give it all I've got without ear protection. I got orange for visibility, it's going on my kayak life jacket for emergencies. Mine came with a black lanyard that's adjustable and break-away. I like the tooth guard, it's a smart touch. I compared it against the Storm, read lots of reviews and articles. This one has no bead, so the sound doesn't "wobble" as much as the Storm, but it's much more compact and approximately the same decibel level. I read that it even works submerged in water, but I don't know how well in a real world situation. I figure that with space being at a premium, this one has the advantage over the Storm (and anything else on the market) as it's just as capable and very shrill, but super portable.

I purchased this whistle as a signal/survival item based on the description. It arrived quickly and I was able to test it out with the following results: Pros: - I like the high vis orange color. Makes it easy to find and helps with your own visibility. - VERY loud and piercing sound - is it as loud as advertised? I don't have a decibel checker, so I don't know. - No pea - means no freezing up. cons: - It does take a fair amount of 'wind' to get max effect. However, unlike some have reported, I don't find the effort to be extreme. Overall I find it to be perfectly suited to the task. Hope that helps.

Very loud and no ball. I like the rubbing coating on the mouthpiece that ensures some extra grip and I like the bright orange color that makes it feel like a legitimate piece of safety or camping equipment. This is even great beachside or poolside since the kids can hear it underwater. The only reason I didn't give it a fifth star is the lanyard. I wish the quick release feature was a little more secure. It feels like it could come apart and fall off. I may get a different lanyard.

I’ve had the original Fox 40 classic previously and loved it. I was hesitant to order the sonic blast because as a whistle purist, I love the high shreek of the original whistle. Well, some how they engineered this whistle to have dual chambers; one on top, one on the bottom that are identical to each other causing the sound to be amplified. Literally the same sound as the original fox 40 classic, just twice as loud. I know- it’s hard to imagine that any whistle can be louder than the original fox 40, but this is. I use this for traffic control on major highways and it’s legit. I have to honestly contemplate blowing it every time because there’s no way to blow it without having your ears ring kinda loud. The best solution is to cup your hands around it when you blow to offer the sound waves some guidance in order to not make my ears ring. But if you’re into that kinda thing, go for it. Seriously: I 100% recommend this for anyone who needs an immediate attention getter. Probably not good for indoor use in a gym- it’s really that loud.

this is the best whistle ever. i am a lifeguard and the whistle i had was not cutting it for me, my boss recommended the sonic blast so i decided i'd get it and try it out. buying this whistle was one of my best decisions ever. it is very loud, you will be heard over large cowards with ease. it doesn't take much effort to get a really loud sound. it looks very good and it makes an incredibly loud sound. this whistle is amazing. sadly though i had to retire my sonic blast because i was starting to get hearing damage in my left ear. there is not a whistle i would recommend more than the sonic blast, it is an amazing whistle from an amazing company.

Fox40 Sonik Blast has been my go to whistle for almost my entire officiating (soccer) career. It’s incredibly loud and piercing, but super easy to control both your volume and inflections. It also doesn’t take as much air to get a lot of volume compared to other whistles also. I’ve tried various other whistles, but always find myself coming back to the this whistle. In fact, over time because of their affordability I’ve collected many of the colors to match whichever color uniform I’m wearing for a match or in the case of the pink whistles, support breast cancer research.

Loud to the point of pain, and beyond. I stupidly tried out inside, and think I blew out my ear drums. Holy heck! These are perfect additions to a prep kit to carry when leaving the beaten path. If you get lost, you'll be found if you stay put and blow this thing if anyone is within a mile or three (distances for illustrative purpose only; not a real measurement of how far the sound will carry)

My husband and I are putting together emergency evacuation kits for all 5 members of our family, one for each of us and one for each of our three kids. Each person gets a whistle to signal that they are out of the house or that they cannot get out and they need help. We bought two different types of marine whistles to try, the Fox 40 Sonic Blast being one of them. We are looking for the loudest whistle requiring the least amount of effort and air. This whistle isn't it. It pales in comparison to the other whistle we bought. With maximum effort if produces only 2/3 of the volume. With minimal effort, as would be produced by a petrified child in a smokey environment, it produce very quiet volume only about 50% of our attempts (and no noise the other 50% of attempts). The package states that this whistle can be heard over a mile away; there is no reasonable expectation that either Fox whistle could be heard a mile away anywhere other than a rock-faced canyon. We will keep these two whistles, because it's not worth the effort or money to return them, but we won't use them for any type of life safety application.

I purchased two of these and we both are quite happy with them. They are loud and easy to put on as the two sides of string snap together! I hope this works for our coyote problem and at the very least it will also scare an attacker.

Sehr guter Artikel, Fox40 würde ich jederzeit weiterempfehlen und erneut kaufen. Schnelle Lieferung, Abwicklung problemlos Verarbeitung/Materialien: Sehr solider Kunststoff, der auch bei stärkerem Draufbeisen nicht nachgibt. Die "CMG"-Gummierung ist ebenfalls angenehm weich.
