Excel 2016 Bible

Very good book to learn everything about Excel. It starts from the beginning, which may be too basic for some, but with the way the contents is structured you can easily skip to new topics without missing anything, as complex topics are built on gradually. Even if it was written for version 2016, it is useful for any version as the newer ones have few added functionalities

It walks through the aspects of software.

I purchased an older version of the excel bible years ago in order to learn excel to make my job easier. I literally couldn't even do a sum formula, much less a vlookup. This book made it very easy for me to learn and advance using excel for my profession. The book has great examples for how to use formulas. I was able to relate the examples to real-life scenarios. Years later, I am now considered an 'excel expert' and I 100% attribute my success to this book. I recently purchased the most updated version to improve on more advanced excel skills. I have shared this book with many of my co-workers, who have now purchased this book. I 100% recommend. FIVE STARS!

This is a very comprehensive book on Excel. There are a few areas, such as filters and advanced filters, that are not covered. What's covered is covered very well. On the downside, there are some typos. Also, the book recommends Excel add-ins and a website by the author that no longer exist...and as far as I can tell did not exist any more when the book was published. So a better editing pass woul have been useful. The upside far outweighs the downside and I've been able to do a lot of good stuff via what I've learned here that I would not have been able to figure out on my own or through Internet searches. Internet searches are great for specific problems, IF you can phrase the search terms correctly. A book offers a coherent viewpoint and a logical succession of topics. Which is better for learning.

This is a very thorough manual for Excel. It goes into tremendous depth for all features available in the software. The author also goes out of his way to give interesting examples of useful equations, such as ones that calculate holidays, including Easter. :) Also explained are Array functions, which are increibly useful. Ditto for importing and cleaning external data using Power Query (formerly Get & Transform). It only has 3 pages of using the new 3-D Map add-in, which allows you to chart data on a map - I used this to map home sale prices. Recommended.

I bought this for a class I was taking and it has actually come in handy a few times. I've learned how to automate a lot of my reporting so I am able to work faster and get more done. Anyone who works in excel or uses the program often should get his book!

I've been thru the first three chapters so far and have already tweaked some of my Excel settings for greater efficiency and passed on the info to others. The suggestions to "See Chapter X to learn more about Pivot Tables," or "See Chapter Y to learn about Macros," is overly saturated in the text that it's almost distracting. Otherwise it's very helpful, concise, and realistic without being a grinding chore to read. I haven't tried the online samples yet.

The information is great. I have purchased earlier volumes. Where is the disc? I know the information in on the web site. It is much easier to work with a disc.

It's a real nice must-have for anybody using Excel. Explanations are simple and straightforward with lots of examples. It works as a manual, no need to go through the whole book, just look up what you're looking for. Writing style is simple and brief making it perfect for learning quickly. Very complete too.

this bible is written for scientist/engineers/mathematisans/ bur not for Excel user that mainly create spresd sheet. There are much better Excel books available.
