Review: Incredible range and realiability - This YoLink Mini Plug is absolutely amazing for long-range smart home control! The 1/4 mile range claim isn't just marketing hype - this thing actually works from incredible distances that leave other smart plugs in the dust. I've tested it from various locations around my property and I'm blown away by the connectivity. Even from the far end of my yard, through multiple walls and obstacles, it maintains a solid connection. No more dead zones or frustrating dropouts like I experienced with WiFi-based plugs. Setup was surprisingly simple and the app interface is clean and responsive. I love being able to control outdoor equipment, garage tools, and remote appliances without worrying about signal strength. The build quality feels solid too - good weight and sturdy construction that inspires confidence for long-term use. The compact size doesn't block adjacent outlets, which is a nice design touch. For anyone with a large property, outbuildings, or just wanting reliable smart plug control without range anxiety, this YoLink Mini Plug is a game-changer. The world's longest range claim seems legit based on my real-world testing! Finally found a smart plug that actually works everywhere I need it to. Highly recommend!
Review: So much more reliable than wifi based switch modules! - So I'm a cybersecurity engineer, automating my personal systems. I have houses 700 miles apart, and I have a ridiculous level of automation because that's just how I roll. So much of the gear I use works great when I'm in the room, and fails the hour I leave for the other house. Wifi is a wonderful thing, when it works. The problem is it is easy to jam up wifi, AND so many of the IOT devices are based on 2.4ghz wifi that can be shut down by any baby monitors that use wifi frequencies but do not use wifi. A baby monitor /can/ shut down any 2.4ghz wifi within a half mile. So as a result I see tons of wifi failures in that 2.4ghz band. It's not just baby monitors, but those are a common example, there are many others. Yolink uses loran technology for communication, easily overcoming wifi failure modes. This is important to ME. Your mileage may vary. I have only two issues with yolink products. One is the speakerhub, it is wifi only, so it falls outside of my "sphere of reliability", I /really/ with it had an ethernet port. Speakerhub makes a noise when wifi goes up and down... I hear that noise a LOT. And it isn't my wifi router's fault, any properly operating wifi AP will fail to operate when blocked by a interfering signal, that is a required part of the wifi protocol, wifi that doesn't do this is actually illegal because it might be near a military radar installation. The second thing about YoLink is that sometimes I need polling cycles of short duration, so for example a temperature probe on an air conditioner will need to have fast polling cycles to capture the curves needed to check performance of the unit. The hour polling cycles are great for most things, but sometimes I need more frequent polling cycles, even if only temporary. I wish there was a way for me to buy extra polling cycles on a month to month basis, but I think that functionality is probably reserved to larger customers with larger operations. So the power of the yolink platform is that because it is not on your wifi, it can be used to repair and remediate issues with your wifi. In my redundancy setup, I have a hub on each of the ISP's feeding a site, so that if one ISP is down, I can reboot the router from the other ISP connection, from anywhere on the planet. And in the short time I have been doing this, I have used it to resolve issues with both ISP's, thereby avoiding 20 hours of driving. I have many brands of remote power modules, as well as temperature sensors, 4 brands of surveillance cameras, a cisco dual-wan router, hvac controls, and automations to manage some of my personal "infrastructure". YoLink has been the solution for many problems, and a joy to build ifttt automations for. It is clean and simple.

## Features

- World's Longest Wireless Range: Powered by LoRa technology, the long-range yet low-power system offers the industry’s longest receiving range in the market (1/4 mile). Our long-range coverage enables its use in areas challenging for most residential Wi-Fi systems, such as basements, outdoor porch/patio areas, sheds, free-standing garages, even remote outbuildings on your property.
- Works With Alexa & Google Voice Assistants: Supercharge your YoLink system by adding the YoLink skill to Alexa or Google Assistant. Control your YoLink devices by voice command (“Alexa, turn off the fan” – “OK!”) and control your YoLink devices as part of routines/automations that may include other, third-party, smart devices integrated with Alexa/Google. (YoLink Hub required, not included).
- Save Money: Many devices and appliances in your home are consuming power even when not in use. TVs, DVRs, disc players, game consoles and battery chargers are among the bigger culprits, quietly raising your power bill while you sleep! Turn them off when not in use, by setting up a simple automation on a schedule, or a personalized scene that turns them back on when you’re ready.
- Start Making Your Home Smart! This economical smart plug is ideal for convenience and energy bill savings. Here is a list of popular uses and ways you might benefit: lighting control, music/sound/noise machines in a child’s room, nightlights, aquarium lighting and water pumps, pet feeder, fans, space heaters, dehumidifiers/humidifiers, air purifiers, crock pots/slow cooker, irons, battery chargers, holiday lighting, home entertainment equipment, TVs, etc. (YoLink Hub required, not included).
- Note: This product requires a YoLink Hub to connect to the internet and function with the YoLink app. It does not connect directly to WiFi or local networks. Without a YoLink Hub, the device will not respond in the YoLink App, and app functionality will be unavailable.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can my baby use this product a lot?**
A: If by "my baby" you mean your significant other, for example, "baby, turn on the smart plug using Alexa or the convenient YoLink app, my hands are full" then, sure!
But if you mean "baby" as in "infant" we can not encourage that. At least wait until they are old enough to learn about electrical safety.

This reminds me of the time when I was a small child and I attempted to unlock a 120V receptacle with a key. It was enlightening.

Thank you for your interest in our products! I look forward to assisting you with any other random, irrelevant questions you may have about them!

Eric with YoSmart

**Q: Does it come in a 4 or 5 pack without the hub? Asking because I already bought the hub but for the leak sensors.**
A: It does not, I'm sorry. Just one-packs: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085LC46RF?ref=myi_title_dp&th=1

**Q: Does this mini plug do energy monitoring of the outlet like graphing power being drawn from the plug at any one time ?**
A: Sorry, the Plug Mini does not support energy monitoring. Thanks!

**Q: Can this be used to send an alert if power is lost to the appliance plugged in, or to the outlet its plugged into?**
A: I looked at Alexa routines and under Smart Homes the leak sensors are there but NOT my plug. I then looked at IFTTT to see if there is more capability there - there is not.

Interesting problem though.

IFTTT has the ability for Smart things to be alerted when smart devices are switched on/off/No longer detected.

This would be a feature request, although if you lost power, how would the alert be sent?

I don;t think this would meet your needs, but look at: https://www.amazon.com/Power-Failure-Detector-Message-Alerts/dp/B089QQNKJL

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Can schedule programs down to seconds
*by S***H on February 13, 2026*

I was looking for a programable timer that could go in seconds for my automated pet feeder. I couldn't find any stand alone plugs that went to 1s. I took a chance on this since I already had the hub from using YoLinks water alarms. It works perfect and can be programed in seconds! Bonus is it's connected so I can give an extra feeding if I'm not home.
