Big fan.
Great travel bag. Spacious and resilient. I travel for work and was going through a $300 Samsung every year. These are built stronger, break less, and are covered for TSA abuse.

I only buy Briggs & Riley for it's lifetime warranty
I have had a set of Briggs and Riley luggage for over a decade. Every time it tears or breaks I drive a half hour to a local store and they fix it. The last time they offered to replace it for a discount on a new suitcase. My husband didn't want that suitcase replaced and got the free fix instead. I looked online and found this carryon bag. I was tired of my old one with only 2 wheels and too small to fit my laptop or printer, which I take with me when I'm on writing sabbaticals. This had ALL that! It was rather pricey and you won't find them discounted anywhere. Briggs & Riley has sales but not on this. I actually ordered this first direct from the manufacturer but received one that had a defective lock. They accepted the return and refunded it. I was running out of time before my next writing trip so I ordered through Amazon with my prime shipping. The package got lost! I ordered it again and got a new fully-working luggage before my trip. The lost bag was still lost weeks later but I couldn't do a quick return on my own. I already dread having to contact Amazon returns because it's so hard to get a human being, but I did (rather quickly) and she was able to verify it was lost and issued a refund. It took a couple weeks for all the refunds from both places to show up but I was on the beach editing my book, which I'd typed and printed using what I brought in the carryon. Oh, and this is the international size, which is smaller than domestic and my 15" laptop and portable printer both fit! I LOVE BRIGGS & RILEY! Just wish they were less expensive...but hey, if you only have to buy one and it last a lifetime it's worth it. Before B&R I went through luggage every other trip!

Lifetime warranty means it'll be in the shop every three trips
TL;DR: I wanted the $500 I paid for this thing to mean that it wouldn't fail on me. Instead, the $500 was for prepaid repairs. For the three trips it'll last before a repair is needed, why not just buy a new $150 luggage every trip? This trunk is a time sink that is not worth the effort for any frequent traveller. I expected this medium trunk to last more than the three trips it took to warrant sending it in for repairs. Go on the warranty site to see if there are any repair centers near you because there weren't any near me. Gotta pay for a $30 prepaid label and you need to pack it yourself. 3 trips in and one of the corners got pushed in deep. Couldn't pop it out myself. The following trip pushed the other corner in. Loud squeaks from the rolling handle because cracks formed between the handle mounting holes and caused the shell to rub up against itself. Sent it in, got it back a month later. Handle still sqeaks. Had to take it apart myself and identify the issue: cracks in the polycarbonate shell between the two mounting holes of the rolling handle on either side. Red duct tape in the pics show where I patched it. These mounting holes being positioned so close together and lined up perfectly at a high stress location is such a newbie engineering design error. Any undergraduate engineering student would avoid this design. At this point, I just stopped the squeaking and am waiting for it to completely tear out so that I can send it in for repair again. Imagine it tearing out while on a trip. My impression of it when it was brand new: flimsy, spacious, and cumbersome. The zipper location, althought convenient, disconnects the front wheels from the back wheels. This thing will flop about like jello on a string whenever you pull on a handle. The material can't take it as shown by the stress cracks that developed on the roll handle. It's cumbersome because it only has handles on 2 of the 6 faces. For a luggage of this shape and size, Briggs & Riley are either being cheap or stupid for not putting in at least one more handle. It's spacious as it is a trunk. You can fit a lot of stuff in it so long as it's not a suit. If you're packing formal clothing, a traditional luggage shape would be better. You would need to fold a suit into thirds to fit in this trunk as opposed to halves in a traditional suitcase.

Big, Lightweight, and Durable
I just came back from 21 days in Europe. The luggage endured 6 flights, 5 trains and a bus, as well as wheeling it across many blocks of cobblestones all without even the slightest wear. I love the trunk-like style, and got many compliments on it. It's very spacious and I was able to fit a mad amount of clothes, shoes, boots, toiletries and souvenirs; and due to it being about 3 pounds lighter than other luggage this size, it still came in underweight with the various airlines. I was a little concerned that it might be considered over-sized, but all international flights I used never even questioned the size... well LOT airline at first said it was oversized but then relented and just passed it through. The other thing that makes this piece stand out above the rest is the 80/20 easy open lid...this is a must have... the 50/50 suitcases are very cumbersome to open. The only thing I wish it had were more color options... Yellow, Aqua, Pink? Let's face it, women need more space than men, some feminine colors would go a long way!

Needs an update
I bought this as a gift for my husband to go with the larger bag he has. The compartment for the computer is nice. However the port to charge your phone is USB which isn’t compatible with newer iPhones which have USBC or lighting ports. So while a good idea, he won’t be able to use it as is

In over 40 years of LOTS of travel - the best carry on I’ve ever owned!
Best carry on I have ever owned. The laptop storage is genius! It’s tough as nails and still looks brand new (which it is not, at all!!). I don’t mind paying a bit more for quality like this.

Lock mechanism laptop compartment
I purchased the Briggs & Riley Torq Hardside Luggage, Stealth, Carry-On 21-Inch in November 2023, and while there are aspects I love, I’m ultimately disappointed. The rolling smoothness of the wheels and the sleek design are excellent and make traveling a breeze. However, the lock mechanism on the laptop compartment is frustratingly unreliable. It pops open easily, which makes me nervous about the security of my items. Additionally, the compartment feels flimsy, which is disappointing given the premium price. For a brand known for quality, this was an unexpected letdown.

Airline surcharge for oversize bag
really nice suitcase wanted to keep it, but I was informed that this would cost me $200 more each way on my trip because it was oversized so I went to the away trunk which was slightly smaller but still plenty big and I didn’t pay an extra 400 bucks round-trip

Best quality and wheels I’ve used so far.
I’ve used many other brand of trunks in my life span and I would say this is the best quality and amazing extremely smooth wheels that could find, the only closes competition I would think of is R****a, but B&R beats them hands down in terms of material quality and price point.

Great Bag! extremely practical and for a busness trip that will last 3-4 days, it is perfect.
I am super happy with the quality of the bag, my girlfriend bought the same bag a few days later. Just note that when the bag is full, it becomes a bit more difficult to close the laptop compartment but this is normal thing considering that there are restrictions in cabin baggage size. Going through airport security is now a breeze.

No doubt it is a decent carry on sized luggage. However, it should be better for it's price.
No doubt it is a decent carry on sized luggage. However, for it's price I would expect more. As other say online, the front pocket is useless when the carry-on is packed, as the contents protrude into the front pocket. It's even so bad that the entire front flap bulges, especially the edge between the two bottom hinges. I just hope it never get's caught behind anything when checking the luggage. Only the two hinges and the lock on the top hold the front in place. The front flap also prevents the suitcase from being taken into the rain as it easily allows water to get in, the zipper was ok though. The quiet wheels are ok, but not as good as suitcases with Hinomoto wheels, which are featured on cheaper suitcases of other brands. There is no pocket on the inside but the inside flaps hold everything neatly in place, the zippers are smooth, items won't shift much. As for looks, I think it looks great, just hope they release a version without front flap, it would allow for more space (which is already a lot!) and make for a sturdier case, as the rest of the case is very sturdy and well build. And don't forget the lifetime warranty, which is how I found this brand in the first place.
