Lots of fun but not as durable as previously purchased Radio Flyer products
Kids of all ages have had a blast on this trike. I read the reviews and make sure they weren' near a car when doing a spin. I've also made it mandatory for them to wear a helmet which I don't even do when they ride their bikes. We got it for my 6 yr old son and he loves it. His friends come over and ride as well. Now my 10 yr old and his friends get into the action. I was prompted to write this review because the handlebar assemble has completely crumbled. The steel rod which attached the forks to the handlebars has twisted apart. I was going to try and fix it myself but instead I call Radio Flyer. They were very good on the phone and have shipped out new parts after I told them I bought it in December of 2010. Very quick on the phone and no other questions or documentation needed. They even asked if anyone was hurt. That's great customer service and a breadth of fresh air!

Hours of fun! But. . .
We bought this for our 6.5 year old for Christmas after he requested a "big kid tricycle." We weren't sure how much he would use it, and didn't want to go all out for a higher end tricycle. In addition, we showed him the Green Machine, and he wasn't impressed. He wanted a TRICYCLE! His dad put this together in about an hour (midnight Christmas day!). All parts were accounted for and in good condition. It was the first toy my son saw Christmas morning, and the only toy he has played with every day since. It is easy to manuever as a tricycle, but he loves, loves, loves the spin function! For those with "will it fit my kid" questions, my son is a tall 6 year old. He is about 4'4" and though it is on the last adjustment, he still has quite a bit of room to grow with it. What I love about it is that it gets him outside for at least an hour every day and is great exercise for him. I didn't give it a 5 star rating only because we have had to adjust the bolt on the caster twice already, and when you adjust the bolt, you have to ensure that the plastic wheels are still touching the ground. You can't simply crank the bolt to the tightest adjustment. So it seems that will be something we'll have to watch out for. In addition, I wish it came with a safety flag. It's so low to the ground that I hesitate to take it out of our driveway. Still, our son adores it, and it seems to be of good quality, so it was $40 some bucks well spent. Edited on 7-22-11 to add: Unfortunately, the fun came to an end when the handle bar connection completely snapped from metal fatigue. We contacted Radio Flyer and with no questions asked, they quickly sent us a replacement kit. Unfortunately, the replacement kit doesn't fit as well as the original part so turning is a bit affected. In addition, it seems as if this part won't last long either, and my husband has already had to readjust it several times to keep the handle bars on. Regardless, my son loves it and plays with it several times a week. I just wish Radio Flyer would understand that we would gladly pay a few extra dollars for something high-quality that will last longer than the box it came in.

Hours of Fun
Bought five of these for my grand children. At first, every handlebar broke. Radio Flyer has now a new and sturdy handlebar that they use. They sent me five. Have not broke a single one of the new handlebars. You must have a smooth concrete or asphalt driveway for this trike. For safety's sake, your drive should not be a steep drive, either. GREAT, FUN TRIKE!

Kids (and mom) love it!
My husband and I puchased this for our kids for Christmas. We have 4 kids who ride it, 12, 8, 6, and 3. I have even taken it on a few spins! The spin out is awesome. My kids LOVE it. They have to take turns with it, which isn't always pretty. We're thinking of getting another just to reduce the drama. There weren't any reviews when we bought it back before Christmas, so when the reviews started coming in about broken handlebars, I was expecting the worst. I can see the flaws in quality and durability; it may just be a matter of time for ours. However, after much use over the past several weeks from the 4 kids (and myself), it has held up. The handlebars are getting wobbley after the abuse it's taken from us and our hilly driveway. One of the spin out castors is slightly bent, but that's my fault. I knew I was pushing the weight limit. :) We bought it for around $40. It was a great deal and worth every penny. I would be singing a different tune if we'd bought it for more than $60. I definitely don't think it's worth the $75 it's retailing for now. Overall, for what we paid we have been pleased. It may not hang on forever, but it's going to be great fun while it lasts!

Don't waste your money
We purchased this for our grandson and nephews Christmas 2010 to use when they come to our house but unfortunately it didn't last through Christmas. The boys absolutely loved it but the handle bar broke off at the "T" after only one day of play. They were extremely disappointed. We sent it back and Amazon replaced it with a brand new one. We put the new one together again in the fall of 2011 because the kids were coming back and again it lasted ONLY ONE DAY. This time, instead of sending it back to get another inferior replacement, we gave it to the other grandfather to weld the handle bar back together. They played with it Christmas 2011 and it worked for 2 days this time. Now the slide lever keeps coming apart and the handle bar bolts keep coming out. In summary, no matter how much fun the Tailspin Trike is, the quality is so poor the kids can't even play with it. Our boys said to not even bother fixing it again because it was just a piece of junk--A total frustrating waste of money!!

Don't Bother
I bought this for my son for Christmas, and I also purchased a similiar product-The Razor Rip Rider-for my daughter. The Radio Flyer is just cheap and cheesy. The handlebar completely broke off. The wheels are almost completely worn through. This Trike has barely been riden. Its not even prime riding season. Its been winter in Colorado, and my little dude was heartbroken when the handlebar broke off. Luckily, its still under warranty, and Radio Flyer is sending free replacement parts. Of course, they are out, because so many people have called them to order this. At least its free, because I would never put another dime into this Cheese-Trike. For the money-the Razor product is way more fun for the kids and better built.

Super Spinning Fun!
Got this for my 6 year old(along with the Razor Rip-rider 360 for my 11 year old)and he LOVES it! This is a great choice for 5-8 year olds. The pedals may be a bit far away for the younger/shorter ones, but my 4 year old still has fun on it too We put it together fairly easily and have had no problems after almost a month of heavy use. The wheels still look great and the handle is strong as day 1. Great fun!! Additional review...well, it lasted for about 5 months then the handle bars broke off. Decided to lower my rating for quality, but my kids loved it while it lasted. The Rip-rider is still going strong!)

A trike for older kids
I bought this during the holiday sale for a great price. I wasn't sure if my son would be able to use it (he's 9). Turns out, the seat placement is adjustable. There are three positions to secure it in and we put it farthest from the handlebars. This is screwed in, so we can't move it freely. My son fits perfectly, but it's a stretch for my six year-old daughter. If she were the only one riding this, I'd have placed the seat closer to the handlebars. Assembly was easy. The parts all fit and we had no difficulties. Riding was fun. According to my kids, the trike is a winner. They don't spin more than once around, but then I think maybe they are a little more cautious than other kids. Or maybe it only ever goes once around. Doesn't matter, though. My kids are happy with how it spins. Like others have noted, the primary wheels are plastic. I don't think they'd spin well if they were rubber. The front wheel is a softer type of plastic that has a little spring sort of like rubber. If they wear down prematurely, I'll come back to update. However, we've own lots of children's vehicles in the past that have had plastic wheels. They usually prove to be durable, so it doesn't concern me yet that they are plastic.
