There are no spreader settings on the bag I just received.** A: Unfortunately, this question often confronts homeowners who purchase commercial grade products. Their label usually specifies the settings for commercial spreaders, not the spreaders homeowners get from the Home Improvement stores. Spreader settings are normally given by recommended pounds of product per 1,000 square feet, and that is determined by 1) the spreader and 2) the particle size of the product and 3) the pace at which you walk to spread it. You can calibrate your spreader for this product yourself and there are many helpful videos on web sites to show you how to do this. It takes time, but well worth it. I suggest that you first contact Syngenta customer service in Greensboro, SC at 1-800-334-9481 or their technical support at 1-866-SYNGENTA. They may be able to give you an approximate spreader setting. I use a Scotts Turf Builder Pro Edgeguard Deluxe Broadcast spreader. From experience using this product, I set my spreader at between 2.0 - 2.5 for maintenance applications, and between 4.0 - 5.0 for curative applications. But that is just me. I covered more than the affected area to decrease the chances of spread(and may have spread it heavier than recommended). I did not use it this year, but used a spray recommended by someone as a preventive. Had disease, but not as bad. Next spring I will use this as preventive for disease in my lawn.
