SUCCESSโA little difficult to install but see my work-around
First when I got the Amazon package I thought it was empty but alas down in the bottom was a tiny package of staples. After several attempts I found the way I had to repair these old (circa 1960) plantation shutters which required the following tools: needle-nosed pliers, vice grips, small ball peen/tack hammer and carpenterโs glue. After trial and error and crushing the wood rail with pliers I found that by wrapping a piece of the bubble wrap from the Amazon envelope around the outside teeth of the vice grips with a thick rubber band and adjusting the grip so the staples would only be pressed in at a specific depth was a major win. I also found that is had to remove the shutter staples with needle nosed pliers and replace the rail staple first. Then I replaced the shutter staple otherwise I couldnโt get the angle or the staples in straight. This was huge!!! So take out the shutter staples and replace the rail staples first with glue squeezing it into place with the protected and depth adjusted vice grips, then shift the rail over so itโs sideways and put in your shutter staple through the rail staple, tapping it in with the ball peen/tack hammer. Voila! Replaced them all! So happy as itโs been TWELVE years flipping them by hand!

worked well after I enlarged the holes in the blind slats.

Hard-to-Find Staples Work Well
These are replacement staples that I inserted with needle-nosed pliers. The original staples were lost by a previous owner of the property. I secured the new staples in the old holes by using Elmer's Multi-Purpose glue. So far all is fine.

Bought these with replacement dowels pins for repairs - saved $$$$$
Easy to install and very easy to repair broken or lost plantation shutters that haven't had the right TLC over the years. In 20 mins I had replaced 6 shutters that needed these staples. A way better cost effective means than even a house call would have cost!

Fix Your Plantation Shutters!
Had I known about these clips before, I wouldnโt have waited so long to fix my shutters! I have several plantation shutters in my home and the original clips broke. I didnโt realize it was such an easy fix.

Read carefully. Picture shows the Tilt Rod BUT this item number is for the staples ONLY.
Well, I gave it a 3 star rating due to possibly my error. I wanted the Tilt Rod AND the staples. I thought I was going to receive both so it's disappointing. I will rate the Tilt Rod and re-rate or remove the 3 star rating for the staples only AFTER I am able to get the actual product that I need which is a 32" white Tilt Rod.
