Works with Linux. Tested with Linuxcnc 2.9. Using lspci -v will give you some information about a serial port which I think confused some other reviewers, but it is definitely capable of operating as a parallel port. I'm running my machine with this and have had no problems so far.

Does not come with drivers for Windows 10 or 11. I did not find this out until it was to later to return. that was my fault. Should had read the detail information first.

Worked well in an old computer that lacked a parallel printer port. The drivers were compatible with Windows 10 and just needed to be installed from the mini CD.

I needed a parallel port on my new computer for my old printer. I'm running Linux Mint 21.2 with kernel 5.15.0-84 The included mini CD had flaws so not all files could be read, but the linux source files were all there with instructions to compile. Thankfully compiling the driver wasn't necessary. My operating system handled the new board as is. Basically it was plug n play.

Shows up in super OEM looking plain box but product worked OK. Drivers come on a CD so I had o hunt around for an old USB CD drive to load them. I would have preferred a simple link to go download the drivers, would be great to put that as the first line of product description right on Amazon. I'm not sure if windows 10 would have found the drivers online if I let it to but instead I pointed it to the COMLPT directory on the CD and it installed 2 devices in total to make this work. Anyway if you eed an old school printer port on a more modern computer this will have you covered.

I purchased this for a linuxcnc build. I spent hours banging my head against a wall trying to get the darn thing to work. I finally decided to return it and go with another brand to try again, but then I noticed the reason for all my troubles. It was a damaged pci pin! Not sure how it got passed QC as it was very obvious but these things happen. Once I realized this, I arranged a replacement from amazon and when the new one arrived, I put it in the computer and it worked without any issues. For the price, you can't go wrong. Subtracted one star for the poor QC on the first part causing me hours of frustration. Product overall is 5 stars

worked as expected on a pc without a parallel port. the application i needed it for was a 25 yr old point of sale software. the receipt printer, epson, worked fine except i had to add extra blank lines in the formatting of each receipt else the last ling was cut in half. a usb parallel cord might of worked but went with this instead. fyi my friend has a parallel port security dongle for his point of sale software and it did not work with this pci parallel port adapter

I had am old storage device which required an LPT Parallel port connection. Earlier, I tried the USB version of this type of connection. It did not work. So I bought the DB25 LPT card and plugged it into an old computer. The motherboard had the correct slot (PCI-E) and the card fit perfectly but the system did not recognize the new card even after refreshing 'new device installed'. I was using an older Windows O/S (Windows 7) for compatibility. Not sure if it needs a driver for this device - not included. Going to try Windows XP maybe? It it works, I'll report.
