For the price, less that $20 I was a little worried about the quality. However, I'm happy to report these feel just as well built as any bigger name brand stem. The variable geometry will come in very handy on my hybrid road conversion project where things can get wonky.My biggest concern when purchasing was whether one would ever be able to get the pivot bolt tight enough to completely keep the stem from moving. Like when you hit a pothole or something. Nicely, this turned out to be a non-issue. The inner portion of the linkage is what's known as a rosette surface. Basically, a bunch of interlocking "V's". I recently purchased a new bicycle to replace a bicycle that was about 10 years old. My size falls right just below needing a XXL bicycle so the XL bicycle will have the seat extended significantly. This places the handlebars low and was making me put a lot of weight on my hands. After riding a few miles my hands would go numb. I did discover that the bicycle store had installed the bicycle stem for aggressive riding (i.e., pointed down) so I reversed the bicycle stem to point upward. This made a difference. I started looking for a higher bicycle stem and most were fixed adjustment. Then I found this one and when I seen that it had positive teeth engagement (versus friction only) I decided to try it. I first tried a 30 degree adjustment but finally ended at the 60 degree adjustment. I like this much better than an extension as it does not increase the moment and stresses in the bicycle stem. I can also now ride 20 miles without my hands going numb. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Like having a custom fitted bike. *by J***K on Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2018* Like a custom fitted bike.
