I wouldn't waste time writing this review if I didn't feel it deserved it! Best flat iron I have ever owned. I have naturally curly hair, but it's very fine. I've had some health/dietary issues this last year (found out I have Celiac's disease) and my hair has suffered. It was fried and so dead after almost a year of being very sick all the time & not getting answers. After finally getting a diagnosis, changing my entire lifestyle to accommodate a new diet, and FINALLY feeling better, I am taking my self-care & beauty products much more seriously. I found a new hairstylist I LOVE, and decided I needed to invest some time and effort into finding a new iron to take care of my recuperating hair.. After years of using Chi & Herstyler products and never being completely satisfied, I am beyond thrilled with this iron and it's more than worth the investment. This iron is gentle on my thin & fragile hair, and after using this iron at least 4 days a week for a month now, my hair is looking healthier and healthier. One tip - DO NOT USE ON WET HAIR. Sometimes I leave my hair curly, but just iron my bangs. I usually don't bother to blow dry my bangs and just iron them wet - it fried them! It says this in the manual, but I ignored it and did it anyway, silly me! Luckily I just did a small piece and it's underneath so it doesn't show. I did a coconut oil mask and the fried pieces are better now, My hair has never felt so silky smooth and don't have the static issue I have battled with when using my other irons. The floating plates reduces the catching and pulling of my hairs like all other irons I've ever used; I was amazed at how smoothly it runs through my hair. Plus, the teal blue color is gorgeous. The one thing I'd change is the placement of the temperature control dial is a little awkward and sometimes I bump it when styling my hair and I have to be watchful of it, you'd think when paying this price for something there would be better placement for this, but it's still worth it and I'd buy it again - just be mindful of this while using the iron. Also, I registered the product immediately and the warranty is valid! I had read some other comments about this and it not being valid, or a knock-off version and had some concerns when I ordered this (but got it through Prime and figured I could return it if necessary). This product has exceeded my expectations and has given me the silky smooth straight hair I've always wanted.

Update: I am still using and loving this straightener two years in. The only negative I've found is that I picked out a white one, and my product has stained the end of it black. I would definitely repurchase if I had to again......I have used a few different kinds of straighteners with varying prices (CHI, ion, Theorie-* I will add that this one stopped working 20 days after I bought it, and they forfeited their warranty because I didn't buy through them.. ), and I was starting to get the impression that even a cheapie one would do the same job as a more spendy one. Well, I was wrong. I was also wrong in thinking that it was a myth when people said their straightener made their hair feel like they just left a salon..Although this one was the priciest straightener I've bought-it all shows in the quality of the product and the job it does. It is lightweight and sturdy at the same time, and well- designed. It comes with a heat resistant mat and bag. It has a real valid warranty, and is very simple to register and confirm it's authenticity. Moreover, it really actually makes my hair look and feel smooth and shiny in a way which I've only experienced after leaving a salon.I noticed this just after one preliminary test pass. Also, when went to do my usual touch up today I had nothing to touch up because it stayed perfectly straight. This is legitimately the best straightener I have used to date, and I'm so happy to have picked this one. The only thing that upsets me is I didn't find it sooner.

I ordered this after WEEKS of internet research and consideration between all the big name brands (Chi, FHI, ghd,etc) and I had been leaning toward the FHI knowing that it's a quality product and having used my mom's when visiting her, but the amazing reviews for the Karmin G3 kept coming up and it caught my eye! I'm so glad that it did! I received my product quickly (thanks Prime!) and right off the bat I was impressed by the presentation of the product, but I was still a bit nervous that the product would be a fake, as so many of the "unauthorized" retailers on Amazon apparently offer- according to all of the frightening reviews! To my relief, I went to the Karmin website, registered my product and confirmed that it is the real deal!! With that hurdle out of the way, I couldn't wait to use it! It heats up very quickly, and works like a charm! It had a bit of a chemical smell when it first heated up, but I think that was just burning off chemicals from the production. This baby has an auto-shutoff (LOVE) and heats up to 460 degrees! I use a heat shield on my hair prior to straightening, and this iron glided right through my strands, straightening and softening it with each pass (only needed one for most areas)! I can't wait to try flipping and curling with it, too!! Great purchase- VERY worth the price!!

I have had conair and Remington flat irons, and had actually been saving for a chi, but the reviews made me worry about getting a fake, so I saw good reviews and thought I'd take a chance on this flat iron. Expensive chance. Best choice ever. I have very long hair, and as awful as it is to admit, I haven't had it cut in about two years, simply have worked too much and couldn't find a salon worth my time, so needless to say, I have split ends and it's a bit of a mess. With my cheapo straightener, the job is long and tedious to get it straightened. Give me five minutes outside, and I have a frizzy mess. However, not even using the highest setting, it took under ten minutes from start to finish with this flat iron, and it looks great. So worth the money. I have a salon visit wed to get this mop cut, and I am excited to see the results with the flat iron after that. **update 12/27/2017** It is still working really well. I ended up being gifted a GHD 2" classic straightener, and between the two, the GHD is definitely better, but I still use the Karmin for my bangs or curling my hair. If you are between Karmin and GHD, GHD is the better product, but you won't regret purchasing the Karmin if you go this route. Even after heavy use, there is no sign of wear, and it works just as well now as it did when I first received it. Good quality, worth the cost

After reading reviews for this flat iron on Amazon and other websites, I was sold. I couldn't wait to get this iron and try it out. When I received my package, I was impressed with the packaging by the manufacturer. I was equally excited that it came with heatmat and a travel bag. Unfortunately that would turn out to be the best part of this product. The iron was great the first month that I had it. I loved that it was lightweight. I was really excited that I could style my bangs without burning my forehead. After a month of using this iron, I started to notice that the entire want would get very hot, almost too hot to even hold to style my hair. I thought maybe it gets hot because I have it on a high temp setting, so I reduced it to the lowest heat setting the next day. It was still very hot and I was unable to hold it with bare hands, so I wrapped a washcloth around the iron so I could use it. I am so put off by this product that I would not recommend it to anyone. I thought to myself that maybe I had a defective iron, but when I looked at some of the other reviews (ones that I must have missed initially), there were others that had the same issue with the iron getting to hot. I had a 2 in CHI turbo flat iron and that lasted me 7 years and will be returning to a CHI as this Karmin flat iron is a waste of money. Kudos to Amazon as they provided the best customer service with this! Thank you Amazon. :)

I was searching for a new brand of straightener as I've always been loyal to GHD but wanted a change! I did weeks of research (yes! I'm VERY picky!) and Karmin seemed to come out as the best rated no matter where I searched so figured I'd give it a go! My straightener arrived and I was excited to try it out. It came in a slimline box with a lovely zip pouch with heat mat attached. I pulled the straightener out of the bag and was really surprised to find out how light they were, this worried me a little as GHD are quite heavy in comparison. I plugged them in and turned the dial to 360. They heated up within seconds!! I have long hair and it literally took me 3 minutes to get my whole head straight AMAZING!!!!!!! My hair stayed poker straight through the whole day and was still straight the next morning after a night of sleeping on it. BEST BUY EVER!!! I'm completely sold on karmin now. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone wanting to switch brands to go with these. 5 stars all the way!!!

Reading reviews of beauty products on Amazon has given me the impression that there's a serious problem with third parties selling fake or knock-off products. I was especially concerned about hair irons in particular, since most of the high end ones are $100 or more. Nobody wants to waste that kind of money on a cheap product. I'm happy to report that this hair iron is *authentic* and came with product registration that checked out on Karmin's website. Yay! As for the features, this iron has IT ALL! As far as I know, this is the only flat-iron with: - auto shut off after 1 hour - adjustable temperature - floating, solid ceramic plates (not just ceramic coated....) word has it that solid ceramic plates have fewer hot spots and are safer for fine hair; while the floating plates make even contact to prevent multiple passes or snags - long, tangle resistant swivel cord And as a nice bonus, it comes with a heat mat that wraps nicely around the enclosed zipper case with a magnetic closure. So far I'm getting lovely, glossy results on my hair. This is definitely a quality hair tool!

Would've been 5 stars but they sent the wrong color, which isn't a huge deal. I ordered pink and received black. The straightener is beyond amazing and unlike any straightener I've ever used before. It heats up in a matter of seconds, doesn't leave your hair smelling burnt, and automatically turns off (no more panicking and trying to remember if you turned the straightener off.) I have long, thick and slightly wavy hair. So, it only took me about 15 minutes. Keep in mind my hair is almost straight to begin with. I also used the lowest heat setting. My hair stayed pin straight for 3 days, with no touch ups. It actually makes your hair look and feel healthier! People commented on how shiny and healthy my hair looked! I would 100% recommend this product to anyone I know! Btw the price may seem a bit high, but I've learned that with certain things you're better off spending more. Quality quality quality! A cheap conair straightener will never live up to this, so I would strongly recommend people to save up and invest in a straightener if that's what they really want. That $40 straightener is gonna end up costing you more $$$ when you're buying tons of deep conditioners and chopping your hair off because it became so damaged. Best straightener ever!

The product itself is awesome! Just love it ! I am just desappointed because I ordered the pink one and then 2 or 3 days later I got an email that they don't have it so I needed to choose between black or white ! The other thing is that I emailed the seller 2 times and they never answered!

This is a fantastic hair straightener. So light weight and gives fast results. Cuts my styling time in half. Love that it has a shut off timer - lost count of the amount of times I had to return home to double check if I had unplugged previous hair straighteners. Had a GHD for 10 years, this product is equally as good if not better. Shipping was super fast also. Free travel pouch added bonus. Would definitely recommend this product. Professional quality product at a great price.

I recently purchased this hair straightener after my CHI straightener stopped working. I have only used it a few times so I cannot speak to how long this product will last. So far I am satisfied with the straightener. Although it does heat up more slowly than my CHI did, it is not a very long wait time and this product allows you to vary the temperature which I like. This hair straightener feels a lot lighter than the CHI did which on the one hand makes it easier to straighten my hair but as a result the hair straightener feels a bit flimsy. Overall, I am happy with the purchase so far and it does a good job straightening my hair while keeping it soft.

This straightener is amazing. I have had it now for over 2 years and use it daily. I purchased this mainly because I travel quite frequently and require the voltage range that this product offers. It has continued to heat up instantaneously and have not had any problems at all. Would definitely recommend this product and am thinking of purchasing the smaller flat iron as well for my travels.

I don't think this straightener is anything special. It's not bad but definitely not worth the price. I find Chi straighteners glide over my hair with a lot less resistance.
