## Description

Your memories are timeless treasures of the heart. We're here to help you highlight your life's most precious moments. We are actively planting koa trees in an effort to save our sacred forests; to date we have planted over 200 koa trees! We handcraft exquisite frames using furniture grade Koa that's grown exclusively on the Big Island, Hawaii. Koa wood is a stunningly beautiful exotic wood native to Hawaii. All of our koa is responsibly harvested with a deep respect and love for our sacred 'aina (land). In ancient Hawaii, koa wood was harvested exclusively for the ali'i class or royalty. Koa is part of the Acacia family of trees and is recognized as one of the finest textured woods in the world. All of our frames are built with the acid-free, conservation grade materials at no additional charge! Every frame we build is of heirloom quality, ensuring your memories never fade. We finish our frames with a water-based lacquer that's low VOC and better for the environment. The finish coat produces a glossy surface shine that accentuates the beautiful character and depth of the koa grain. The miter joints on our frames are reinforced with a double underpinned commercial grade framing tool that adds superior strength to the mitered corners. Be sure to look for this when purchasing frames; the end-grain-to-end-grain connection of a glued miter joint offers almost no strength on its own. You have to reinforce them, one way or another, and underpinning is the industry's leading method for achieving maximum strength in corners. The moulding profile for this listing, the Ponopono, features a classical inner border with a 1/8" radius round-over on the outside edge to prevent chipping. To custom order any other size frame please message us, and mahalo nui loa for considering our frames. Aloha!
