Archetype Cards

Originally influenced by Carl Jung with his psychological work he did on the shadow and archetypes - this deck is absolutely invaluable to me. Caroline Miss did a great job, I really enjoy the artwork and the stock quality of the cards is top notch. They are very insightful cards and the book accommodates the set very well.

My interest in archetypes and how they are presented in tarot decks is what drew me to this particular deck. I wanted to work with something that dealt with pure archetypal energies and so was quit drawn to give Myss's cards a try. At first I was a little put off by the abundance of red coloring and also the cover picture is not the best the deck has to offer. I read a review here though and the reviewer mentioned the very items I was concerned with but also had many wonderful things to say about this deck. The cards are sturdy and durable, the colors vibrant and alive. The artwork and symbolism reflects beautifully the energy of each of the cards titles. The Light (positive and helpful) and Shadow (negative, problematic, challenging) notations on the cards give a rich spectrum of meaning to the archetypical energy they describe. This deck is a wonderful tool for self-awareness and development. Spending some time and reflection on each card, is a great way to let those parts of you that wish to be acknowledged and heard come to the forefront. If there are particular aspects of yourself you?d like to develop, or make stronger, working with this deck can aide in that endeavor. A simple reading you might like in using these cards follows: The Problem or Challenge Solver: When you have a particular small ?now? problem that you?d like insight into, here is a very simple three-card spread. Draw three cards at random and lay them out in a row left to right. Card 1 represents the problem or the energy that is fueling the problem. Card 2 represents the way through the problem and the energy that can guide and support you. Card 3 represents the probable outcome or where this can possibly go if the energies are fully supported and encouraged There are several situations when this reading is appropriate. Some of them are: 1.When you feel like ?something? is amiss in a situation, but you can?t put your finger on it. 2.You think you know what the problem is but it is something else entirely. 3.It can confirm for you what the problem area is when you already had some idea to begin with.

Perfect quality. Easy to shuffle and it's very informative. It allows deeper readings and insights.

Such a lovely and useful deck of archetypes. Love the artwork and love that they address both the light and shadow aspects of each. However, I noticed today when I pulled the Shape-Shifter card that the guidebook (on pages 92-93), have different images corresponding to the archetypes they are referencing. I think this must be an error in publishing that was overlooked. But don’t want buyers to be disappointed, like I was - and it’s the only reason I didn’t give the deck 5 stars. This deck is still going to be so useful to me and be a terrific adjunctive learning tool to Nina Danhorn’s classes focused on archetypes. Can’t wait to share these with her!

Beautiful cards! I am joyful and grateful I ordered these cards. Very insightful and helpful in becoming more aware of character traits in yourself and others. I never write reviews. You won’t be disappointed!

Instead of traditional tarot imagery, this deck focuses on archetypal energies—the deep patterns in human behavior, motivation, and subconscious personality traits. I am not a tarot reader but I draw the cards and have chat gpt read them and it works well!

I have gifted these three times now and own my own deck and have nothing but praise for them. They're not your typical oracle cards although they can be used this way as well as to augment a traditional tarot or rune reading (at least this is how I use them). You won't find any information on the different spreads you can use to read these cards -you'll have to use your intuition/imagination and that's exactly what I love about them. There's no shortage to how you can use these and it's easy to look up different kinds of tarot/oracle card spreads online. The booklet that accompanies these cards is loaded with information on each of the archetypes and the section at the beginning delves into the history of archetypes and also how you can use the cards to draw up your "Sacred Contract" by casting your archetype wheel. This deck is also a great accompaniment to Myss' book "Sacred Contracts" or as a stand alone deck. I am an archetype practitioner and use this with my clients to help them cast their archetype wheels. I also use it to accompany tarot and rune readings to help elucidate the meaning of the reading. In short, I love this deck but note that it's not your typical "oracle card deck." It's so much more than that :)

A great introduction for understanding the basics of Archetypes. Very satisfied. I've bought the book as suggested by others comments about accompanying the pack. I agree that the book will definitely help in going deeper into the subject of the cards

Ik was nieuwsgierig naar deze kaartenset. Ik heb het wel bekeken maar nog niet gebruikt in een van mijn verhalen. Wie weet gaat dat nog gebeuren.

Quality of the cards are really good. Love reading through these cards on my downtime.
