**Q: How does it lock in place when stroring up?**
A: There is 1 little tab you hang on wall. It isn't a very good solution for storage

**Q: Is this good for when door is accommodating a doggie door insert? Can it go as short as 19-21 inches?**
A: It absolutely can be used to accommodate a doggie door.  Yes can can go as short as the 19” inch. I measured it just to double check for you.

**Q: What keeps the security bar from coming down and locking me out when I go outside and close the sliding glass door behind me?**
A: You can take it completely away from the door.  It is so fabulous!  The whole thing!

**Q: Can this be used for double hung windows?**
A: No it cannot

Was perfect. I didn't want to put screws in my sliding door so I used Hot Glue to hold the little thing that holds the tip. I didn't think it would work but it did, for 3 days. So I used 3M super strength molding tape. That will hold forever. The makers of this product should reach out to 3M and make a pre-cut piece of tape part of this package.
