I use this to sgrafitto clay slip on my ceramics. It is by far one of the best tools I have come across for this purpose. It has a fine tip on one end and a small ball tip on the other. The diamond part of the fine tip does make it a little difficult to run through the dry slip but that is probably more user error. It does allow me most of the time to create clean fresh lines through the dried clay slip.There are two grip handles one for each end and these are well placed and comfortable. I keep mine in the tube it was delivered in to keep it in good condition and not get knocked about as it is quite a costly tool for it's size. Previously I have used a potters needle to sgrafitto, the ends of which wear down and become dull over a few weeks of use. This diamond tipped tool has not worn down at all and I have used it quite instensly.I am enjoying using this tool so much that I am saving up to get the other two sizes to use.
