This sander is a beast. Like many have said, similar material removal to a belt sander so very powerful. The major downside that most people have is the expensive sandpaper. It's hard to come across packs of 10 so you're stuck buying expensive boxes of 50 or 100 so paper adds a few hundred bucks when you're first starting but think of it as an investment. The paper is higher quality- a box may last you a few years depending on how much you use it. The dust collection is superior which keeps the paper cleaner, thus lasting longer. Also Klingspor abrasives has paper for about half the price and similar quality. I also stupidly thought this would come with a dust bag(it does not) for collection but it is designed to be used with a vacuum. If I only was buying only one I would buy RO- 150. I bought the ETS-125 first I like it a lot but it is not as capable. It also feels under powered at times. RO-150 has two modes of sanding I find this very useful with a very aggressive mode which I’ve actually used for shaping items and the random orbital mode which I use for finer sanding. My sanding time is significantly decreased with the Ro-150 Especially on table tops and larger items. This is because of the greater area between a 6 inch pad and a 5 inch pad. Also more aggressive nature of rough sending that I use first. Note they have different strokes length. The ETS 125 has a smaller stroke length and therefore does finer sanding. I have not really noticed much of a difference. On smaller parts I tend to use the ETS 125. I will also sometimes use that for my final grit. **Q: Can it be used for drywall?** A: Well, can it be used or should it be used? Festool makes a tool specifically for drywall, and that is what should be used for drywall. Can you make this work to sand drywall in a less efficient way than the tool made specifically for drywall? Yes. It does not require Festool sandpaper, it can run on other sanding discs. I used 3 different brands I found on Amazon and they all worked great.
