You cannot get any better price for what you get
This Doser is super awesome and for the price you cannot beat it. Do not expect anything fancy, it works, and it is accurate. It is just a couple of boards with a shell connected to dosing heads. No fancy apps or remotes you just set it and forget it. One thing to keep in mind is that if you have issues with it not keeping the schedule and time you set that you may have to replace the internal memory battery or make sure the contacts on the battery are not bent out of shape. In my experience, I set it and when I unplugged it would reset the time and schedule. I then opened it to check to see if it had a battery and it did. I checked the battery, and it was reading the proper voltage. I noticed that the contacts were barely touching, so I bent them slightly and it worked as advertised.

Why did I not buy this sooner
I was looking at expensive alternatives and finally decided to buy this one before I went on vacation. I had a nano tank that was taking about 40 ml of two-part per day, and I preferred doing it in two intervals of 20 ml in the morning and 20 ml in the evening. I did not mind hand dosing, but I did not want to have to hassle someone to come in and dose for two weeks and have to go by twice a day. The unit came in, and I quickly calibrated it and set it up to dose the 40 ml into four doses per day. I may change it to 8 later on but for now its working great. I am only using two of the four channels. I am looking to possibly set the other two channels to do small daily water changes to automate the water changing process. How it is a less expensive alternative, I am testing the amount it is releasing every month, and I have a couple of extra heads available. I may buy a second unit to have as a back up just in case.

Overall, a reliable unit at a great price.
Construction: The buttons, LCD, and pump heads seem to be of pretty high quality, though the case feels cheaply made. The power jack on the unit I received has a poor connection and the unit will lose power if the cord is angled incorrectly. This is mostly just an annoyance since the unit is secured inside the tank stand. The cord that comes with the unit also sticks straight out of the back, so although the unit itself is only roughly 6 inches deep, you need to provide an extra inch or so of clearance for the plug. Space in my stand is at a serious premium, so this wasn't an option for me. I had to buy a new AC power adapter with a 90 degree barrel plug in order to reduce the clearance in the back. Although the instructions state that the unit isn't waterproof, mine survived, so far without issue, after being sprayed with several gallons of saltwater due to a burst pipe fitting on the tank return. While I wouldn't recommend replicating my unintentional experiment, it does seem to prove that the unit is fairly durable. Use: The unit doesn't come with tubing, so you will need to pick up some airline tubing before you can get started. The instructions are poorly written in broken English and are missing words or pictures in key steps- don't bother trying to use them. Champion Lighting has a much more clear and complete version here: http://www.championlighting.com/pics/doserpics/Jebao-DP-4-Instructions.pdf Programming isn't completely intuitive, but is fairly straightforward and isn't nearly as difficult or time consuming as some reviewers make it sound. You will need to set the time and the volume of each separate dosing event on each pump, so this could get tedious if you're dosing more than a few times a day, but if you're only dosing 3-4 times a day you can easily reprogram each pump in about a minute. Once calibrated and programmed the dosage is very precise and consistent. It will retain the settings even if power is lost. When running, the pumps are pretty noisy- probably loud enough to hear over a TV at normal volume. In most applications they wouldn't be set to run for more than a few seconds so that's not likely to be a problem in most cases. However, if the tank is in a bedroom and you're a light sleeper you may want to set the unit to only dose during times when you won't be sleeping.

Great pump
Definitely happy about getting this dosing pump seems to work well programming isn’t that hard and honestly if you’re not the type to read the instructions, it’s simple to just type in the name of the pump on YouTube and it’s got many videos on how to set it up correctly

Air bubbles, always and forever
First, the programming is very limited. If you want to do alternating days, you have to set it to 23:59 and 00:01 daily. Since it was do-able, I wasn't too annoyed. Then I found only two out of the four pumps worked. The last two would make a strange sound but not pump the solution. The first pump would only do a few drops, so I had to take the dial off, make sure all the components were on right, and eventually found I had to loosen/unpinch the hose inside to get it working. Now after all this I was glad to have it set up and working. I followed the steps to calibrate the pumps, and purged the tubing of all air. This last part was meticulous but important to do. Over the next few days I noticed rather large air bubbles had gotten into the tubing. I checked that the connections were on tight between my solution containers and the pumps, and purged the tubing again. Again, large air bubbles. I assumed it was the tubing, that maybe there were tiny holes in it, so I went and bought new tubing. Not from the local pet store again, in case it happened again, but from a store online. Calibrated, purged the tubing, crossed my fingers. Nope! Large air bubbles! Seeing as it might be the connections to the tubing, I sealed shut all the connections with glue. Next day, air bubbles, but I noticed I missed some spots and some connections, so I did a better job of sealing. Annndd... air bubbles. The only thing I can think of is that the hose that is inside the pumps has holes in it, but would that be the case for both pumps? I'm not sure what the chances are. So, I've given up on the Jebao DP-4. The entire planted tank and aquarium community can recommend it but apparently I just don't have any luck with it.

Product as Described, Very Accurate!
Came in today. Was pretty pleased on how the original box was in perfect shape. Everything inside the box looks in order, item as described. Will be testing a run soon after the weekend. Update: Accurately precise when well calibrated, stumbled over one video from Utube by FishOfHex. He probably has the better video instructions on setting up this unit, very easy to understand with his step by step walk through in calibration and time/schedule and final setup. Do take note that in calibrating your unit, you should use airline tubing cut-to-fit the unit’s final placement. If you do calibrate the unit with a different length of airline tube compared to the final length of airline tube you will be using for the unit’s final placement, then there will be a slight if not a huge difference (depending on how long or short the airline tube will be used) in the amount of dose the unit will pump in. So, the longer tube you’ll be using for placement compared to the original length you used for calibrating will therefore result to an under dose and an overdose if the airline tube is shorter than the ones used for calibrating it. Update: Seems to be working very well! One final point though, if you’re using a longer airline tube to feed the pump as directed by FishOHex, make sure the feed cycle does not exceed 250rotations/cycle. When calibrating at a 100ml, the unit only permits a maximum of 250rotations/cycle. With a longer airline, you won’t be able to achieve this. The key is Manual Feed the pump with the additive you desire, make sure the line is filled with the fluid then you can start calibrating it with a 100ml, this way you will not consume all the 250pump rotation/cycle. This is how accurate it can get, it’s spot on!

SOLID DEVICE - BIG THUMBS UP !!
PUMP exceeds my expectations - I'm using it to dose VODKA and Marine snow - I have a heavily modified 29 gallon BIOCUBE - so far the pump works great - I've seen a couple of reviews on this product but no one has mentioned the ability for the pump to pump liquid up against gravity **HEAD HEIGHT** this was important for me because I don't have a SUMP - so the pump is below my tank and the liquids need to go up above -after I calibrated the pump for where - I need it to be the rest was cake - Ii'd say about 3 to 4 feet head height with the liquids just below the pump ... very accurate **after calibrating it** and the price point is very responsible for a 4 pump device of the nature ... BIG THUMBS UP

Workable if you are on a budget and can accept a level of unreliability
I have purchased four Jebao DP-4 units. In all four units the packaging was intact and there was no indication that the units were second-hand or re-sold. All the units had the pump unit, a power supply and an extra pump head. The unit cases were all apparently solid and cleanly put together. The menu interface allows for setting date/time, pump dosing schedule programming, pump volume calibration and manual pumping, and all the functions were reasonably easy to access. As other reviewers have noted the clocks can drift noticeably but no worse than your run-of-the-mill bedside clock radio might, at least as far as I can tell. The most important part of these pumps, however, also seems to be the weakest point. Among the four units (four DP-4 units total 16 pump heads) I've purchased three pump heads have proven unreliable to the point where I don't use them, even after switching out several pump heads (I now understand why the put an extra one in each box). The peristaltic pump head unit is a plastic assembly with three plastic rollers pressing a latex tube against the outer shell of the assembly, and the whole assembly is basically press-fitted onto a bare metal shaft. This arrangement is clearly economical (seeing as how many competitors are three times the cost of these pumps) and when it works, it works--usually. Unfortunately in some cases the shaft is prone to slipping or sticking for whatever reason, and sometimes changing a pump head improves the situation. Sometimes the pump heads work consistently for weeks or months but sometimes they'll work for a few days and start slipping or sticking. It seems certain motor shafts are just problematic for whatever reason. The calibration method involves priming each pump and filling a 100ml container while a counter counts up from 1 to 250. Of the four units I purchased when calibrated before being placed into service three of them proved generally consistent with the factory calibration, but in the case of one unit none of the pumps could reach 100ml even at the maximum calibration setting of 250. I'm not sure whether this behavior is attributable to the electronics or the pump head. For my needs the actual volumes hit (>90ml) were adequate for my needs, but aquarists with precise dosing requirements might regard this as a caveat. So if one is looking a dosing pump and working on a budget, this is a workable option if one accepts the limitations and a certain level of unreliability.
