The idea is great, but the outer pot needs to be re-designed due to a structural design weakness.DESCRIPTION OF DESIGN FLAW:This item is comprised of two distinct pots:- An inner pot that holds the plant (the top two inches of this pot is visible in the picture) and 'sits' inside the outer pot- An outer pot that holds the water and the inner potOn the upper portion of the external pot (the one that holds both the water & inner pot with the plant in it) there are four holes which the hanging cords pass-thru in order to keep the hanging cords secure. The areas of the body of the external pot that are connected to the four cord-securing holes are too thin to support the weight of the: planter, plant, and water (which is substantial amount of weight when combined) when the planter is hanging.ROOT CAUSE OF DESIGN FLAW:The four areas of the outer pot where the cord is secured and passes-thru are to0 thin to maintain the integrity of the outer pot that holds the water. The pressure from the weight of the unit that the cords bear and pass along the wall of the external container is too great given the thinness of the pot along these four pressure points. The force on the wall of the body of the external pot (caused by the weight of the planter) causes cracks to form.RESULT OF DESIGN FLAW:Once the cracks have formed, the integrity of the outer container is lost and water leaks-out thru the cracks that have formed where the cord-securing holes are attached to the body of the external pot.HOW THE MANUFACTURER CAN CORRECT THE DESIGN FLAW:These areas of the wall of the external pot which connect to the four areas where the cord-pass-thru need to be thicker so that these can areas can withstand the weight of the planter.SUMMARY:It's really too bad that this initial version of the planter doesn't work, because it is a great concept/idea for hanging plants (and the pot design looks good too). Until the manufacturer explicitly states in the Product Description that they have redesigned the outer pot to correct for this structural weakness and made these areas of the pot thicker (to reinforce it so that it won't develop cracks and leak), then I would suggest steering clear of this pot. I purchased four of these and all have cracked and leaked.The overall idea and concept is good and the planter has an attractive design, but the design flaw causes water leakage.
