The board is padded and every time you press a puzzle piece in place, at least one jumps out of place, sometimes more. I’m not sure why it needs to be padded at all. It must be some sort of memory foam, because where I have rested my arms or hands, there are indentions. Possibly, eventually the whole board will be indented and the padding won’t be a problem.
