For car camping nothing beats a big Agnes sleeping bag and air pad. It's like sleeping at home, you can roll around and you never fall off the pad and the sleeping bag doesn't wrap around you. I have a hybrid Down/Synthetic BA bag rated 30 degrees, but by about 40 I am freezing my Tuukis off, even with long johns on.
