Q: Does it have protection from accidental switch on?

It's tuned on by turning a selector ring. It's a pretty notchy ring so it needs a real "click" to move but there is nothing stopping you from moving it. I'd say it would be much harder to accidentally turn on than a simple button or slider switch though.
