This tool was fun to demonstrate to my kids how easy it is to measure sugar content. I used the calibration fluid and tools to perform a quick calibration. Whole process took about 4 or 5 minutes. Plan to use this tool for maple syrup production.

Never add DEF without using this.
Arrived on time and put to immediate use. It’s easy to use and the instructions are clear. Three different samples from three different sources produced similar results. I won’t ever add DEF again without testing it first. Thank you.

Refractometer is accurate when accounting for alcohol present in sample.
I want to point out that refractometer readings with alcohol present in the liquid need a conversion. I've seen a few reviews specifically related to homebrewing and how refractometer is inaccurately high. I suspect that the reviewer did not now this. With the conversion, I have found this Refractometer to be reasonably accurate. Do note that that conversion is based on the O.G. (so knowing how much alcohol is present).

This item seems to be of good quality but we'll never know for sure. There was not one word of English in any of the accompanying literature. Everything including the instructions was in what I assume to be Chinese. It's going back.
