## Description

Joseph Joseph's Adjustable Rolling Pin will take the guess work out of preparing pizza and pie crusts, cookies, lasagna sheets, and filo pastry. The rolling pin has four pairs of colorful, removable discs which raise the rolling pin to the required thickness of 1/16-inch, 1/6-inch, 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch off the counter. This clever design will ensure that the pastry or dough is rolled to an even thickness throughout. The rings are held to the rolling pin with plastic screws. Also etched into the wood is a width measurement guide. Pin is made of beech wood and measures 13.6 inches long in length without the rings attached and measures 17 inches in length with the rings attached. The pin measures 1.75 inches in diameter. Hand-wash for best results. Do not submerge in water; dry immediately after washing.

I scored it at a low, low price of $6.38! Yes, that's correct! A savings of almost $20! Now, let me just say, I love to bake - biscuits, breads, cinnamon rolls, etc. When recipe called for X inches I'd do one of two things - I'd either guess or I'd take a wooden ruler and measure - what a pain in the @$$. The beautiful thing about this rolling pin is that there is no more guess work involved. You just place the discs on for the thickness you need, and you roll out your dough - it's just that easy. The pin is just as easy to clean up as any other wooden rolling pin. I handwash the plastic discs, but I'm sure they could probably be washed in the top rack of the dishwasher. As for the only downside, because of the width of the rolling pin (13.5 in.) add a little when the discs are on, you can't roll out wide pieces of dough. Most of what I bake don't require rolling out over 12 inches, but for things like big batch cookies, we separate our dough and roll out, problem solved. I love this rolling pin and wish I'd bought more to gift when they were priced so low before the holidays. If I ever see them that cheap again, I will be sure to buy some to give as wedding presents or Christmas gifts!

The guides on the side of the rolling pin help you to achieve your perfect thickness so all your cookies come out the same. No more burnt edges and underdone cookies when taking them out of the oven! There are also measurement marks on the pin to help shape your dough to the perfect size. One thing that's odd and different than other rolling pins is that there are no handles. The rings on both sides of the rolling pin make it so there are no handles, and you can't comfortably put your hands there. You end up having to hold the rolling pin closer to the center, which is a bit odd at first, but you can get used to the new grip quickly. One idea for improvement is to add handles. There are end caps on either side to screw in and hold the rings in place, but you could easily screw in a handle instead if Joseph Joseph made one. You also have to change your technique for rolling your dough, because now your dough can never be wider than your rolling pin; the rings always have to touch the work surface. The Joseph Joseph rolling pin makes up for this by making the rolling pin much longer than other ones I've used. But, you still have to make sure that your dough doesn't become too wide. Overall I really like my Joseph Joseph rolling pin and will be using it for all my baking projects!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Professional cookie maker LOVES this rolling pin!

I have a business where I make custom decorated sugar cookies, and get more work than I can handle for being a stay at home mom. A flat, even Cookie is essential when you use royal icing, as a flat cookie means less bumps, more even icing and a prettier, more professional look. Some cookie decorators I know use hacks like paint sticks under their rolling pins to achieve this, but there is no need with the Joseph Joseph rolling pin. He Joseph Joseph allows you to only the convenience and ease of rolling without having to move pesky paint sticks, but also the flexibility to change the thickness of the cookie with the pins four different thickness settings. The ends of the rolling pin easily come off with a green screw like nozzle on each side. I also find the pin really sturdy, well built and easy to clean. One of my all time favorite purchases for my business!
