Caveat, Valerian Root does not have a lovely scent or flavor. Chuck it in your mouth & get it swallowed. Once you learn how well it works, you won't care! Still, don't linger with it in your mouth! Also, SUPER IMPRESSED how small the capsule is & what a punch it packs! Valerian Root is part of my sleep regimen. I've tried several brands. For many years I used basic, super inexpensive ones. I have severe PTSD & always had trouble with nightmares. I did not realize Valerian Root could contribute to that. Until 2020 being 2020 took me to a new level of nightmares. I increased my valerian dosage with extremely bad results. Then eventually learned something I should have known long ago about a product I've ingested for years. Decreased my dosage & adjusted a couple other meds. I realized it was time to search for a brand of higher caliber. I was slightly nervous, slightly skeptical about the mg vs the less is more. However I was already getting good results on that for another herbal & decided to give this a try. I honestly wasn't sure at first. But within about 2 weeks I realized I was definitely getting much improved, less interrupted rest. Toniq's 4:1 concentrated extract is outstanding! It's pure unadulterated goodness! I literally NEVER remember to keep track of a coupon & I have been excited, looking forward to getting another bottle gratis on my disability income ever since I was about 15 capsules in. It was a bottle of 120 so I feel very confident saying it is a valuable asset to my optimum rest and I am absolutely delighted to have found this company! The best and most effective valerian supplement I’ve found. Yes it smells like valerian, valerian isn’t supposed to smell great. That’s how you know it isn’t diluted with a bunch of fillers. Other brands I’ve tried are mostly rice husks and fillers, this stuff is great and a good deal for the quality. 10/10 would recommend. I noticed an improvement in sleep and relaxation already. Also a general mood enhancement. If you’re looking for a quality valerian root supplement, this is it.

I've been an insomniac for longer than I care to remember. I've run the gamut of RX from doctors which work well initially but lose efficacy with tolerance. Instead of upping my dosage on potentially harmful prescription medications, I instead chose to go a more natural route and picked up some of these. First off, the smell is awful. I won't deny that. But from everything I've read, that's to be expected. Maybe leaving the lid off the bottle for a while would alleviate this but I couldn't bear to leave it off too long inside. They do, however, seem to work. They don't make me drowsy but do seem to help me relax before bed. Then I seem to stay asleep longer, which is a huge plus. The medicines I'm prescribed tend to knock me out quick but wear off mid-sleep and I wake up constantly during the night. With these, I don't fall asleep as quick but I do generally manage to stay asleep. If you can get past the smell, I highly recommend them.

I had been struggling with insomnia for several years now, I started taking ambien back in 2017, before then I never had any sleep issues but my psychiatrist sucks. Over these past few years I developed tolerance to it and started taking 2 10mg tablets because 1 wasn't enough. Eventually 2 wasn't even cutting it for me and I started taking benadryl with it, which ruined me in so many ways. I turned to other prescription drugs like benzodiazepines (which are highly addictive but I didn't have that issue with them) and seroquel (which is one of the most sedating drugs in the world) and still couldn't put me out, all they did was mess up my circadian rhythm. I couldn't sleep for days on end and I was just going insane. Just about a month ago I quit all that crap and started taking magnesium and melatonin, which worked well but I still only got about 5 or 6 hours of sleep, which was a drastic improvement but I would still keep waking up in the middle the night. My bottle of valerian from you guys arrived yesterday and for the first time in a long time I got a 9 hours of a very deep and good night's sleep. Excellent product!

I bought this because of the great reviews and so I didn't have to taste the liquid valerian root I was using from the Now brand and was hoping it would work the same and help me stay asleep all night, but for me it didn't. As far as taste goes for this product, I hardly tasted it because I swallowed quickly but the smell is strong and reminds me of stinky feet so I made sure to put the lid back on quickly and wash my hands after handling it. Yes the smell is that strong! Had it worked by helping me stay asleep like the first brand (Now) I tried, I could have looked past this. The first night I took one capsule around 9pm and woke up feeling super drugged and heavy all over to the extreme! Like, it was hard to lift my arms or sit up on my own and I was so tired throughout the day. So I used a scale and my own empty capsules to split one pill into two equal half doses. I did this until I had 4 half doses and tried that out for the next 4 nights. It didn't help me fall asleep and I was still waking up 4-5x during the night. I assumed that by splitting the dose, it wasn't strong enough so I went back to taking the full regular dose but tried taking it earlier in the evening to counter the morning grogginess. I tried 9pm for several nights in a row for consistency, then 8pm, 7pm, etc and did this for about a week. I even took it as early as 5pm and never got drousy in the evenings but still woke up several times during the night and felt drowsy the next day every time. The longer I took the full dose, the more groggy I felt the next day. Like its building up in my system and the effects are lasting longer throughout the day, but it's not helping me sleep. So I'm really sad that it didn't work for me but I'm done feeling like this and will return it.

I've used close to the whole canister of Valerian Root ultra high strength, and can say I'm very happy with this product. I use it primarily when my stress levels are beyond my level of tolerance, and this product really makes a substantial difference. The best part is it doesn't knock me out for hours on end. I myself suffer from several mental health disorders, and am currently not taking any pharmaceutical industry medications because of severe side effects from long term use of them. Being that this product is ultra high strength, one works great two-three at times. So far no negative reactions and I've had this same canister since April. Another great point on this product is, you don't need to take it every day in order for it to work. It actually works well on an as needed basis. Will definitely continue to use this product. *** I know everyone is different and will have their own experience with this product, this is just my own personal experience with this particular product.***

I take 3 or 4 and alternate with passion flower and lemon balm because I was advised not to take the same thing every night. I do take ashwaganda every night though. Gets me through the 3am wakeup when the alcolol wears off. i will even take another one if I do wake up, even up until an hour and a half before the alarm goes off. I wake up feeling a lot more rested and a cup of strong tea helps snap me out of lingering drowsiness. I'm much less anxious during the day too.

This was garbage like other people have said it doesnt have any smell like valerian should smell like and does nothing at all to help me sleep. Please dont rely on this brand if you're struggling with insomnia

I started taking these to aid in sleep, took a few days to work but they do help but after a month there was a period I still struggled with sleep but it passed quite quickly. These are part of my nightly ritual, don't take them in the day because they do make you a little drowsy.
