Wagner Power Products 272909 Piston Repair Kit

Finally wore out the original parts after 40 years. Read the one and two star reviews first. Good gravy folks. They are simple parts. Wagner changed the color of the tips from white to red. That’s all folks. The piston and tips fit perfectly and work well. I mean, one reviewer photographed an old and new tip with a micrometer for crying out loud. A new part will be larger than the original worn out part. That’s why you need a new one. The manufacturer noted in the question section that the parts fit specific paint sprayers. If your model matches buy the kit. I’ll worry about this again in40 more years.

My Wagner spray gun suddenly quit spraying. This kit revamped the tool to like new operation. You can't really see the wear, but the piston wears just enough over time that it no longer makes a good seal to the cylinder, breaking the suction and making it so that your gun won't spray. After consulting with the manufacturer, I found this kit at a substantial savings over buying it directly from the manufacturer. The parts come in the manufacturer's packaging, so I am assured of good fit and function. I will definitely purchase again! The Prime shipping is icing on the cake!

I bought a Wagner sprayer from a neighbor who was leaving town. He didn't bother to tell me that the piston was broken. It took me several hours to determine what the problem was. I ordered this replacement and boom, everything works. I'm not giving it 5 stars, because the design of the whole sprayer is clunky and the documentation is sketchy.

My stepson used the sprayer to paint a shed for us but when he was finished, he failed to clean it properly thus when I attempted to use it, it would work because it was clogged up. Once I received this part I was able to cut the neoprene part off so I could get hold of the metal shaft that was glued to the pump housing. After cleaning it properly, I replaced the part and test it, It works perfectly now. An excellent product.

These little buggars were discontinued because of their tiny life span, not because they didn't work. I am Tuscany Hills Wrought Iron Fence & Gate so my needs for a sprayer are exactly opposite most painters. They want a nice wide spread, I want a very narrow pattern for 1/2 inch fence pickets. Nothing works like these old, loud vibrating Wagners. Take a look at your worn out Wagner piston. The effectiveness of this sprayer is 100% dependent on the roundness of those groves. Amazingly a worn out piston will have perfectly squared off groves like it was machined that way. Strange but true.

This item does not fit the 220 paint sprayer ! That being, I purchased it ,the spring and plunger does not apply at all to the 220. So I bought the kit just to modify the inner atomizer to work in my 220. IT needed to shaved and sanded down to fit the bore of the 220. There are no parts avalible out there . I have spoken with a rep from Wagner and these parts have discontinued . But with a little work and tooling ,it can be done . So ,good luck with your 220 !

Easy to swap out and glad to have a new piston. I have worn out the shafts before and bought a replacement before and was thinking i better have a spare ready to go.... IN the middle of the job I switched to this new one and was surprised how good it worked. The new fresh spring probably helps a lot, especially if you have your sprayer speed all the way up at max, which I have no idea is needed or not, but that's where i have it set and have been able to "dial"-in the settings to paint small jobs with my cheap handheld 2xxx series wagner.

It's pretty remarkable how much abuse these things will take. When my aged and hard-used Power-painter started spewing paint, I figured it was finally giving up the ghost but a quick piston-replacement has it working like new.
