## Description

desertcart.com : 1 Million Scoville Pepper Extract Hot Sauce, 5oz : Grocery & Gourmet Food

Review: Good heat amplifier for your recipes - I make my own beef jerky. I have a great recipe that I really like but it doesn't quite have enough heat. So I bought some of this stuff. What I do is, I use a metal skewer that I dip into this hot sauce to add the heat to my marinade. If I want about a medium heat for my beef jerky I'll dip the skewer about an inch the hot sauce then mix it into the marinade. If I want it pretty spicy, I'll dip it about two inches into the hot sauce and then mix that into the marinade. Let the meat and marinade do their thing overnight, put the beef into the dehydrator and pretty soon you've got some great, spicy beef jerky.
Review: Fantastic and Tasty - Unlike the 5mil extracts, the 1mil extract is not prohibited by most states. More importantly, you can "work" with it. The 5mil extract is awesome too, but the fumes area killer, it will make you cry and choke just from smelling it. The 1mil is just not pleasant to smell, but you can still work with it and cook with it. From a torts perspective, if you plan on putting this product on someone's food, (1) put only a small amount, (2) tell them that it's "a bit spicy." That way, your intended target is at least aware of the risk of the food he or she is about to taste being spicy. He or she is assuming the risk of "how" spicy the food will be, and if they can handle how spicy it is. The "choice" is entirely upon the free-will of the target, and not due to misrepresentation or concealment. On the same note, please do NOT put this in food and NOT tell the person that it's spicy. Sure, it might seem like a funny thing to do, but it won't be funny if they file a pretty strong tort claim against you civilly. Also, some people are unable to handle spicy foods, or due to some stomach, heart, or GI condition, are extremely sensitive to spicy foods. Giving them food containing a 1mil extract poses a serious risk to their health and life! That means, what you thought was a joke, could end up putting you in jail for reckless or criminally negligent homicide. As an added warning; please be careful when you use this product. If you don't use gloves, and then rub your eyes later, enjoy the sensation of 1mil SHU on your naked eyes. To enjoy a similar sensation, just allow the sauce to splash into your eyes while washing something or closing the top of the bottle with the cap. If you thought you felt pain from your mouth being on fire, wait till you see what it feels like in your eyes. It's not fun, so please use gloves and glasses, or try to be very careful. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: What are the ingredients?**
A: One part Devil's tears, two parts Devil's blood and 3 parts Hitler sweat. Yeah, this stuff is hot enough to be poison!!! Good luck.

**Q: Does this come with a dropper?**
A: I use a disposable drinking straw to extract a few drops from the bottle and discard the straw.

**Q: Is this in an oil, vinegar or alcohol base? I want to put it on my bird seed and the Cole's Flaming Squirrel sauce isn't hot enough**
A: Is this a pourable oil consistency or closer to a paste? Looking for a more economical (i.e. longer lasting) substitute for Cole's Flaming Sqirrel sauce, which works fairly well at keeping the squirrels away. When we just had bare seed out, the sqirrels would come lounge in our feeder and eat up pounds of seed in just a day or so. Since coating the seed with hot oil, we have only gotten a couple of sqirrels, and they don't lounge for long. The birds though, don't seem to mind at all. Cardinals, Titmice, Juncos, Chickadees, Finches, and more Starlings and Grackles than I prefer, all use the feeder after adding the oil. I bought the Cole's hot oil at a bird feeding supply store, and looking it up on line confirms the general consensus that birds don't seem to be sensitive to the heat. They just love my sunflower seeds. If I get this product, it will be diluted with vegetable oil to a point that would give a heat higher than the Cole's but still able to be added to birdseed at a rate of about 3 T. per 5 lbs seed.

**Q: what is the concentration? Does it take all 4 oz to equal 1 million Scoville units or is it 1 million per ml, etc?**
A: Scovilles are already a measure of how spicy the sauce is, which is specifically a concentration of capsaicinoids, not a quantity. So your question doesn't make much sense - 1 ml of the sauce is 1 million scovilles, and also 4 oz of the sauce is 1 million scovilles.

If you add 1 ml of the sauce to 99 mL of something otherwise non-spicy, the result will be 10,000 scovilles.

If you add 1 oz of the sauce to 9 oz of something otherwise non-spicy, the resulting food will be 100,000 scovilles.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Use caution and be mindful of the quantity when consuming
*by J***N on May 29, 2021*

I have been using this for a over a year now in chili and making things a little hotter than usual. A few of the recipes I have used this in: I made a 3 gallon pot of chili with a dozen or so habaneros and 4 Carolina reapers, added about 10 drops to it and it was very flavorful with a lot of heat to the point where most hot sauce enthusiasts wouldn't eat more than a bite. Chicken brest marinated in 15 drops of this, a quart of chicken broth, pinch of salt, liberal amount of ground black pepper and garlic powder. Served over rice with a butter sauce (Butter, garlic, lemon, and chardonnay). It was extra tasty but had an insane amount of heat to the point where my roommates and I were all outside vomiting and coughing after a single bite. WARNING, THIS IS NOT A JOKE after over a year of use I have only used about a half ounce of this extract. Be mindful and if cooking with it the fumes can cause some eye and nasal discomfort similar to pepper spray. Will be buying again if I ever run out.
