Review: If it wasn't so humid we'd run this every single day! - So if you're like I was a couple months ago, you're lying awake for the entire night because you're in the second story of your house and it is literally too hot to fall asleep. That all-nighter was the tipping point for us in biting the bullet and getting a whole-house fan. I have degenerative disk disease in my back, so my father came to visit to help install this, and while it wasn't super difficult, they obviously showcase people in their videos that have installed a bunch of these before with "ideal" attics (not that it's a problem, it's just a good business practice). It took the better part of 4 hours, and even with my back I could easily life the parts individually to my father through the hole in the ceiling. The one thing people always seem to care about the most is the noise level of these fans (my wife included, she has some childhood trauma from an old-school one being right outside her bedroom), but let me tell you this thing is as silent as it could be! I saw somebody somewhere say, "It sound like somebody in a room with a closed door is using a box fan" and that is really accurate. On the main story of our house, when the fan is running we can barely hear it. In our bedroom (which is only a few feet from where the motor is hanging), we can barely notice a noise. Our toddler's room is also near the motor and it has not caused any issues. If you're worried about sound, then this brand is your choice. In terms of how well it works - VERY! I have had 0 experience with whole-house fans in the past so I can't speak for how this compares to other brands, but it definitely changes the air out of the house quickly. We have roughly 2,400sqft of living space, and while, in hindsight, I would maybe go one step up in terms of power, the one we purchased does a more than adequate job of cooling our house down. If you have just one window open on the main floor and turn this on, holy cow, the breeze you feel is almost comical (as in so strong you can't believe it). Unfortunately, with how humid it has been lately and the bad air quality coming from the wildfires, we haven't been able to utilize the fan hardly at all for about a month, and it's insanely disappointing. Just a reminder, this is not at all the fault of the product or the company - You just don't want to be sucking in air that is 95% humid or has a ton of smoke in it. I wish we had made this purchase sooner. We've been in our house for just over two years now, and the first year we just dealt (suffered) with the heat, but the first night we could use the fan my wife woke up with her hands practically numb from how cold it was in our room (exactly what we wanted). If you're on the fence about getting a whole-house fan, this is your sign to make the leap (assuming you have the financial means to do so). When the weather allows, it is absolutely a game-changer and a life-changer. Side note - We didn't install a wall switch or anything like that, so what we did was just plug the cable into a smart plug that works with our Google Home. It's kind of cool being able to just say, "Hey Google, run the attic fan for 10 minutes". Good luck!
Review: I am age 63, yet I installed this fan with no help from others. - I'm age 63. I installed this item by myself with no help from others. This was a fun DIY rainy day project, cutting the ceiling drywall, slowly hauling the fan into the attic, affixing it to the attic rafters, and completing some simple electrical work since my unit came with a 3 prong electrical plug. My model came with a 2 speed wireless wall control panel with a handy timer. My mountain cabin is only 1200 square feet, but I deliberately upsized the unit chosen to be certain the whole house would cool, even at the lower of 2 speeds. There are a couple of useful installation videos on YouTube, and the instruction manual at the company's website is very detailed. I took my time following the videos, and the installation manual on-line, so there was no complications. The fan works great, even at the low speed setting. 5 stars. Cool mountain top air gets sucked into the home, and drops the internal house temperature quickly.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great fan
*by B***W on May 24, 2021*

Fan works great! We have about 1900 sq ft, bought the 4700 and wireless switch kit. Installed in around 3.5 hours. Ran it overnight and through the morning after initial install. Turned it off when temps hit 60 outside and closed up the house. Inside temps stayed in the 60s throughout the day, while It was mid 80s outside from 11-6ish. Temps did get up to 72 inside late afternoon. Completely amazed at how well the house stayed cool throughout the day from simply exchanging air early in the day. Wireless switch is well worth it compared to wiring a new one up. When we first turned it on, we had windows wide open and were not impressed. We then tried just cracking them a few inches open, literally blown away. It has enough on high speed to get a breeze through our basement as well as all rooms on the main level. Sound is more white noise than anything, doesn’t bother us a bit. Highly recommend. Just do your homework on their actual website to see what size fan your attic ventilation can accommodate.
