The maximum inside diameter is: 21.5 cm or 8.46 inches if one wanted to fit the filter OVER a telescope tube. The OD measurements (to fit this filter into a telescope - as it is designed to fit into the Celestron) is actually 22.6 cm or 8.9 inches. Of course, it is still adaptable to other sizes by making an expansion or reduction ring from a piece of PVC piping. I hope this will help someone.
