Nice lock! Easy to use and set up and has many different words and number combinations to use!

So a Comedy of Errors caused me to have to order this random lock and if you need something just like this, it came exactly as appeared. I ordered the green and when I ordered it I was concerned that I was not going to be able to create the exact combinations of words and numbers that I needed because it was a replacement of another lock, but lockily (wink) this item comes with several interchangeable green dials with combinations of words and numbers and you set the lock by picking out exactly what combination of letters and numbers that you would like to have as the passcode and then you follow the instructions to set the lock! It worked as expected and it's very easy to operate and it's also quite easy to change the combination if you want it to be something different but you want to be able to use the same lock. That's kind of the beauty of this particular choice. It's not like you're going to lose the key, you know what I mean? As long as you have the code you can get into it and if for whatever reason you need to change access to something that you want to keep the same lock, all you have to do is very easily change the code. It'll be handy to have for use with a gate or for a seasonal Locker. It feels really safe and secure and it doesn't feel like you could cut through it very easily and the shackle fit well into the hinge lock that I used it for. It's also extremely visible because of the colors on the Tumblers and it's kind of nice that you could select different colors for different applications on the same site. It makes it easy to discern and leave instructions because you can reference the color. It seemed very sturdy and it definitely looks as it appears in the advertisement. Good value.

This is the second of these locks I purchased this year. The first one failed after 6 months, meaning when opening the lock it proceeded to fall apart in my hands and all the parts scattered on the ground. I know the lock is able to be disassembled in order to change the ring or the order of the rings. I figured that there was a fluke that it happened just when normally opening the lock. I need to say the lock gets opened often, up to 4 or 5 times a week, so maybe just a one off. This second one fell apart 7 days after the return window expired. Exact same circumstances. I my opinion, if you are going to open a lock often, this is NOT a lock you want to purchase. Basic Junk!!

I was very surprised at first when I got the lock, opened the package and saw all the pieces in my hand. Now that I have used it at the gym, in the garage, even on a lock box, I get it, I really like it! Please don't get discouraged, if you've not had this type of lock before! It works, the most important thing I can say is just that, it is a heavy-duty, well made padlock, that has your combination! The only reasen that you might not be able to use it would be the size of the shackle. You do need to note the diameter of the place that you want to use it most often! If you want something lightweight, and easy, this may be overkill. But if you want to secure your belongings, and feel certain they will be waiting for you when you return, the Master Lock Word Combination Lock is a fantastic choice! - Strong - Private - Accessible - Easy - Long lasting Definite ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The lock is super easy to set up and easy to remember your combination. OK it won't be a long word but at least YOU set it up and change the combination anytime you need to. it is NOT a SUPER high security lock (not recommended for locking your store front gate or your bike but the lock can't be slim jim open. You need the combination to open AND CLOSE the lock (not a snap lock) The to set the combination, remove the cap where the shackle goes into the lock, the wheels will come out and place in the new combination with the assorted wheels. can be combine with other Master Lock 1534D Wheels of different colors if you choose to do so (assuming that you have purchase other color locks)

The flaw in the concept of this (and all) word locks is the same reason people like the idea: Words are generally easier for people to remember... for you as well as the person looking over your shoulder to try and snag your combo. If you'll be using this lock in a place where you're not worried about this, then mentally add a star to the rating. Why the execution of this specific lock is somewhat poor: The dials turn too easily. If you'll be using this lock in a place where you are worried that someone may be trying to snag your combo, get a different lock. You cannot lock this lock if the combo is not correct and because the dials turn so easily, it takes too much effort to try and close the lock without the dials turning on you. This gives an observer plenty of time to see the combo if they are so inclined. Conclusion: I almost didn't buy the lock because of the inherent flaw; add to that the poor tension in the dials and I'll be tossing my lock for a directional lock. A directional lock is a little more difficult to steal the combo and (as a bonus) is actually cheaper than this lock was. My guess is that neither this lock, nor the directional lock I'll get in a couple days are anywhere near as secure as the classic combo locks, but for speed I'll sacrifice a tiny margin of security.

Its mechanism was excellent; there was no way of externally manipulating the set combinations, after it has been set. Very usuful for everyday uses, with only reservation to use with a cash box of a very high amount. Perfectly ideal for protecting your things you value most in personal terms! Thank you so much for providing me a peace of mind in my life! If more need arises, I'm more than willing to buy a product from the same company.

Great lock at a great price. I like it because the letters/numbers are big enough so that I don't need my reading glasses. I have read the negative reviews and yes, it will break if you drop it because my last one did. Of course I had to drop it 5 or 6 times over almost 6 years before I needed to replace it, but I replaced it with the same kind of lock. Check the price and you will see that you just don't have to be that careful. The only bad point to me is that it uses letters and the kids at the health club like to try to spell rude words with it when I'm not there.

I was impressed with the variety of combinations until my 16 year old grandson, picked four of the five letters/numbers just by 'listening' to the tumblers as he moved them!!!!

What a brilliant idea! The ability to pick your own combination with numbers and letters of your choice, is fantastic! We use this lock daily at the gym and because there are two of us each with th same lock, we have set them to be exactly the same so that we can access each others locker if needed or use the locks and gym bags interchangeably. The quality is excellent, the lock works well and consistently and if ever we needed another lock, this is the one we will buy. Numerous people at the gym have stoped either of us asking about this lock and where can they get it? They love how easy it is to use and they are fascinated how it works. I don't write reviews easily, this is a damn good lock, and don't hesitate! Lastly what is nice is that should we choose, we can change the combination at any time, not that we plan to do that, but its great. We picked a common word with a number that we will never ever forget.
