I haven't used it yet
Don't know - just arrived, but my beautiful lil Victorian chair for $75 on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, well he seat is destroyed, falling apart. I'm visually impaired, but I think I can redo this seat. I NEVER write reviews, so stay tuned! I will try to report in. The booklet with pic - EXCEPTIONAL!

Perfect kit to restore a rush chair.
Perfect kit for repairing a rush chair. The instruction booklet is really helpful, as is the author Ed Hammond's definitive video online. The wedge and peg are very helpful. Yes, the rush is based on paper fiber, but it is very strong, and wetting it a bit is very helpful and does not affect its strength once it dries. As the instructions mention, just dip the rush in water, don't soak it for a long time. Just one helpful hint: the 2 lb roll of rush was not enough for the pictured rocking chair, which has a 20" x 16" seat. This took a little over 3 lb of rush to complete, so plan accordingly.

Did a good job
The instructions and the video online are very clear and very well done. For my first time I don't think I did too bad. Probably would so better next time. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because this particular paper rush, if you wet it more then once it starts to really unturn and the paper fibers start to disintegrate. It says to dip, not soak, which is what I did. But in the dry state I live in it dries extremely quickly and I had to dip into the water a few more times which started to cause problems. It felt kind of pointless dipping into the water. Didn't seem to have much of an affect.

Step by step
Easy to follow step by step color illustrations in the direction booklet. Didn't think this was something I could do but I did! Very proud of the results. Ed Hammond products are good.
