We sprayed it liberally on the 8' x 6' rug before going to bed and it was dry by morning. There us still enough in the can for touch-ups. No tell-tale smell. No film on the feet when you walk across it. It did not alter the color of the carpet or damage it in any way. It has done the trick on wet or dry messes, making them easier to clean up. I would recommend this product.
