Foundational part of my gear bag
This is an outstanding ball head. After buying one, I bought another. I have both the LB44 and LB52. I use the LB52 with heavy portable telescope without any difficulty as well as with my Zeapon slider. Yes, that's astrophotography and filmmaking, so it's a really flexible piece of gear. I use the LB44 with a mirrorless DSLR and a 24-105mm lens with no problem. The low profile means a lower center of gravity which cuts down on vibration in any gear that's on it. The ball head is a bit weighty, so when it's in my bag and I'm hiking, I know it's there, but given the value of the equipment I have on it, I'd rather it be substantive than risk an accident. The build quality is excellent, the knobs turn well and lock securely, the panning glides beautifully, and the ball moves smoothly in its socket.

- Great quality, great product -
Great quality! Been using this for a few years now with my Sony A7R3 and haven’t had any issues even with my larger / heavier GMaster combo lenses. Gives a wide range of angles / adjustments with easy flexible use and locks down VERY securely. This was a solid purchase for me.

A solid head that works well with Manfrotto
I needed a new ball head for my Manfrotto tripod. I replaced a lighter head that was intended for small video cameras. This head fits perfectly and gives me good support for my camera. I use a Nikon Z 7 with long lenses and this head holds things together very well.

Very good ball head for the price.
The ball head appears very well made. Ball moves well, single friction knob delivers very good control and locks well. Works well with D850 and 28mm- 300mm lens. However, the panoramic motion is very sticky due to the lubricant used. Usable but not smooth. Replacing the sticky lubricant solved the problem. This is a very good ball head for the price. Recommended.

DO NOT BUY!
I bought this to use as my ball head on my platypod for low shoots, and first out of the box it appeared to be in good quality and nice. The screw for horizontal panning was stuck. Not too big an issue as the head wasn't spinning wildly anyway. It would had been nice if I had had a means to lock the vertical rotation though. Next big issue, and this is my main grieve arrived when I tried to attach my camera. The package contains two mounting plates in Arca-Swiss style. However, they don't fit!!!! There is a screw on the ball head which in theory should allow the width of the grove on the head to be adjusted, but the little plate that determines the width of the grove won't move regardless of the position of the screw. This was a total bust! I hope this is just a mishap in quality control and I got a Monday version, but I need to find another ball head after wasted time and money on this piece of s...!!!

I bought this to replace the Manfrotto #141 tripod head on my 40-year old Gitzo Sport Performance Gilux. The 66mm base is the exact size of the Gitzo plate with the black plastic cover. This tripod head is solid and extremely well built. The adjusting knobs are smooth and firmly lock the ball and body in place. The adjusting knob for the ball provides for very fine control of the pressure/friction on the ball. This, in turn, allows for smooth and precise adjustment of the camera on the tripod. I think €95,00 is a real bargain for something so finely engineered.
